Problem syncing reading plans

After several days my reading plans seem not to be syncing.
Is this a known problem?
thanks

I seem to have the same problem, but mine is more intermitent. It seems like it can take up to a day for the thing to get in sync after I check off the reading on either the PC client or the iPhone.

Same here. Mine is a week behind. Completed on iphone and behind on desktop.

I am having a similar problem, except my reading plan will not transfer to the iPhone. I can only get a brand new reading plan that starts with the current day and Genesis 1. Obviously, I would like to continue with the same plan I am using on my desktop computer.
However, after reading some posts dealing with some resources not being available on the iPhone, I am beginning to think this may be linked together. My current reading plan is based on the NIV bible and the NIV is not yet available on the iPhone, apparently because of licensing issues. It may be that Logos will not update a reading plan on the iPhone if that plan using a currently unavailable resource? I don't know. Just a guess, but I am only 2 weeks from starting my reading plan over, and I am planning to read the ESV bible in 2011. Perhaps that will clear up all the problems.
BTW, I was able to export my reading plan as a list, then save it as a PDF and transfer the PDF file to my iPhone, so I could have a listing of my scheduled readings for each day. At least that way, I can read whenever I have a chance and stay on track with the plan. Later, I will mark the reading as complete when I login to my Logos account in my home computer. Not as convenient, but at least it works.

The app will not show a reading plan that includes a book not available on the iPhone, e.g. NIV.
Reading plans were syncing very slowly from around 11/27 to 12/15, so it would sometimes appear as though they weren't syncing at all. They should now all be syncing within about 5 minutes.

Thanks, Dave. That was my suspicion, but glad to know that was the cause of the problem and not something else. When I start with the ESV on January 1st, that issue will disappear.

I could not sleep last night and I completed my reading plan at 1:30 this morning using my iPad:
At 8:00 am I checked Logos while I was working on paperwork for the day and it was not in sync:
I am reading the NABS95, which is also downloaded to the iPad for offline use, although I am at home with wireless so the iPad is not offline now.

After the recent updates, my computer synced my reading plan with my iPhone and my iPad. Now my computer is behind again, almost a week. This isn't a big issue, except for us obsessive compulsive types the little red behind banner drives us crazy.

I agree, George. It's not a big issue, really. I am on my laptop daily so I just go into Logos and catch up. :-) Maybe it's good for me since I tend to be a little too orderly!
I have to admit that, warts and all, I am loving the ability to read Logos stuff on my iPad. During the Christmas sale I didn't buy much, being out of work, but the two small items I did buy are available on the iPad. I made sure to check that before I bought. [Y]

Hi Kaye, I too love to read on my iPad.
The only problem I have with catching up on my laptop is that it creates another reading plan. So I have duplicate reading plans. I'd rather live with the banner.

Haven't had the duplicate plan created. At least, not yet!

I too am having trouble with synchronizing the iPhone / iPad and Logos 4 and my reading plans. Both my husband and I have separate reading plans, yet only his is syncing to the iPhone and iPad we own. Further, the reading that he completes on our iPad is not syncing as completed back to the laptop, though it does show itself as completed both on the iPhone and the iPad. We are signed into the appropriate Logos account and are both using the ESV, which is available on all three devices.
We have deleted and re-installed the newest version of the Logos app on both devices and over the past two days haven't seen any improvement or any updates synchronizing either back to the laptop or to the phones / iPad.
Just thought I'd provide further data, in case it is helpful in reaching a solution. If there is something I've overlooked, just let me know.
Thanks.
PS: We are operating on a beta channel, if that has anything to do with the issue.

My wife and I are having basically an identical issue to Michelle's. We both have iPod touches and she recently created her own reading plan. Mine still appears, but her reading plan only shows up on the PC, not on either iPod.

Phew! I thought it was just me. My reading plans are still not synching (certainly not within the 5 minutes mentioned earlier this thread!).

Since the new year my reading plan are not syncing at all. Resources does not sync either. Reading a resource on the iPhone and then open it on the laptop will not jump to the last read section in the resource.

Same here...set reading plan up on desktop, reading and checking on iapp and not sync with desktop. Began plan on 1st.

Due to high load, syncing between desktop and mobile devices is taking between 45 and 90 minutes.

Mine hasn't synced yet this year! My reading plan began Monday and that's where it sits...

I'm having the exact same problem. Mine hasn't synced this year either. I've been manually marking it off on desktop as well as iPhone.

Me too, the reading plan (ESV) still says 31st December.
Upto date on iPad.

I'm just adding mass to the thread in the hopes of calling developer attention to the problem...
I constructed a new reading plan for the new year on my laptop. The reading plan shows up on my desktop and on my iPod. I'm up to date with my reading, all of it done on the iPod, but my desktop doesn't know I've started.
In other words, me too: no syncing yet this year. (I don't know about the laptop; I don't use it much)

Updates from Logos 4 are making it to the mobile device in about an hour. I'm working on an issue that is preventing changes from the mobile device from getting synced up to Logos 4.

Thanks for the update, Dave! We try not to bother you too often, so you can work. :-)

Same here, my reading plans don't sync. It's not a big deal, every few days I'll mark read the reading plan on my Mac, but it would be nice if it would sync as it should.

Reading plans on phone and computer not syncing. Is this still an ongoing issue?

Looks like mine got synced up today![:)]

mine is sync as well. thank you and God bless!

Yay for everyone else's problems being solved, but mine still isn't syncing. I think the issue is slightly different though. I am not even able to sync reading plans created on my desktop to appear on the ipod in the first place.
I have in the past used the feature just as it's meant- created one, had it appear on the ipod and read a mix of either or both methods. But now, I can't get new ones to sync and appear at all. And I deleted the old one to replace it with a new one, so now I have no functional plan except the default one on my ipod.

Which bible are you trying to sync. Yet not every bible is able to be read in the iOS app. Have you tried to create a reading plan in another bible?

My reading plan is syncing with my laptop but it syncs only every third day or so. Today (monday) saturday is viewed as unread in Logos 4 but I'm up to date with my reading.

Any more news on this?
iphone and Mac not syncing after reinstall etc.

I too am trying to get my reading plan that I created this afternoon to sync with my ipad. I'm using the KJV Cambridge 1900. It doesn't show up on my iPad at all.

I am having the same issue. I created a new reading plan on Logos 4 for Mac about an hour ago using the ESV and it still won’t show up on my iPhone.
All the phone displays is the default.
I’ve tried uninstalling and reloading Logos onto the phone—no dice.

still not working for me on my iphone . very frustrating

I am having the same issue as described in this and several other threads. I create a new reading plan on my desktop (L4 (beta) on Windows 7) using the ESV, which I have loaded on my iPhone. However this plan does not show up on my iPhone. Like some other users, it did work for a while but periodically it would give me a message saying that it was unable to load the data for the reading plan, upon which it would create a new reading plan by the same name but with an incrementing number after it (e.g. "Read ESV Dec 31 (4)"). I tried tidying things up by deleting the duplicates, creating a new plan on the desktop and waiting for it to sync to iPhone. However now all I have on the iPhone is a default reading plan "Read the Bible in one year." This plan has synced back to the desktop but the plan on the desktop hasn't made it to the iPhone. I tried altering the one which had synced to the desktop but this did not replicate back to the iPhone - instead another reading plan "Read the Bible in one year (2)" appeared on the iPhone.
Has any progress been made on sorting this issue out? (It is a brilliant idea but a pain when it doesn't work!)

PS: I also have an issue with some iPhone enabled / available resources not being available on my iPhone. In particular I note that "A Textual Analysis of the Greek New Testament" (Metzger) does not appear.
PPS: Can anyone tell me why NA27 and NA27 with McReynolds interlinear are not available on iPhone?

First, welcome to the forums. Sorry you are having troubles with this!

Logos has told us that they are in the process of updating the sync platform and features. This will include adding highlighting and notes to the mobile apps. We have been told this will be addressed, but we do not have a time frame. Sorry!

Do you mean "A Textual Commentary on the Greek New Testament?"
If so, check to make sure you were looking up the right resource. If not, could you provide a link to the right resource? I could not find the one you mentioned.

There are two primary reasons that a resource is not available on the Logos mobile app. 1) the publisher won't allow your Logos4 license to be used to access the content on your mobile device and 2) technical reasons. It is Bob Pritchett's philosophy that if you purchase a license for a resource in Logos4, you should have access to it on as many devices as you own.

Sorry! Yes it was "A Textual Commentary on the Greek New Testament" that I meant. It shows in Logos with the iPhone logo but it doesn't appear in my library on the iPhone (although I have it on my desktop). Is it possible that this is because it is linked to UBS 4 / NA27 which is not currently available on iPhone?

Karl,
My experience has been that the iphone app FREQUENTLY has sync problems for a reading plan. It somehow fails to sync updates to the Logos server.
During periods of time when I am primarily reading on the app, it sometimes forgets what has already been marked as read. It seems to have problems changing from offline to online, or online to offline. Hopefully a future update will have a complete re-write of this function for the app.
Also, the app seems to have no option for managing a reading plan. After a while, I usually experience problems keeping the iPhone app and a WIndows reading plan in sync.

My reading plan is not syncing between my platforms (Mac and iPhone) using the ESV to read through the Bible by the end of the year. A duplicate reading plan was created also.
I do appreciate the reminders that say I am falling behind in my reading plan, but I really am up-to-date!

Having a similar problem. I made a new reading plan on my PC (Psalms on ESV) and it won't show up on my iPad (2nd gen). It's been about 14 hours since I made the new reading plan, restarted my iPad, etc. The Logos app has even downloaded a couple resource updates, so I know it's syncing to the server, but no reading plan (other than the default one for reading through the ESV in a year that you can delete but it just shows up again immediately).

I have finished (and deleted) an old reading plan (KJV), but it still shows up on the iPad. The new reading plan I created does not show up at all (ESV). Both resources are on the iPad. Is there a way to force a sync?, clear cache?

Hi Peter
The short answer is no!
Some tell us that the thing will sync eventually but that has not been my experience.
We are also told that the Sync system is being overhauled but not when this feature will be re-intoduced.

My reading plan (ESV in a year in four sections: OT, Pss, Provs, NT) finally appeared on my iPhone yesterday (took just over a week). Given my experience in the last few weeks, I expect that, from time to time, there will be trouble syncing and duplicate reading plans will end up being created on my desktop - but I can live with that for now. I'm just glad to have my reading plan available on the iPhone again.
My only advice is this: Be patient. Don't be tempted to tinker with your iPhone / iPad and try uninstalling / reinstalling. Don't fiddle around creating new reading plans. These things will only delay / confuse the issue. The problem seems to be with iPhone app itself and the way that it syncs. Eventually (assuming that the reading plan uses a Bible which is available on your mobile device and your desktop "use internet" setting is enabled), your reading plan will sync through to your mobile device. And hopefully before too long, Logos will sort out the syncing issues and it will work like a dream!

Just to add my $0.02 worth: I have had an old completed reading plan on both iPhone and iPad for 3-4 weeks and it still has not cleared. I have removed it from the ribbon on the Home Page, and show it completed on my PC ... but it still shows on the iDevices. I am patiently waiting! [;)]
0 -
I notice that you say you have deleted it from the ribbon on your home page, but have you deleted the reading plan itself? (File, right-click on the completed reading plan and select delete.) My understanding is that, if you do not delete the plan itself, it will not be deleted from your iPhone / iPad.
Having said that, I've not actually tested whether deletions are propogated when syncing. I've just tended to right-swipe the plan on the iPhone and pressed "delete."
However, at least In theory, if you delete the plan itself from the desktop it should eventually disappear from the mobile device.

After several days of my iPad only showing brand new readings plans that I didn't want - and not the ESV reading plan in a year that I was part-way through - the correct reading plan suddenly appeared on my iPad last night.
I'll be interested to see how long is stays there. [:)]

I also have completed and deleted a reading plan and it is still hanging around on the Ipod touch. In fact I began a new reading plan that hasn't even showed up on that device yet. Also I have resources that do not even show up on the Ipod at all that I know I have. The sync between my two other computers is fine.
