Morning Everyone,

Is anyone experiencing a problem with android beta (downloaded from logos website http://downloads.logos.com/Android/Logos/beta/index.html) in respect to reading your library resources offline. If you download your book for access without wifi signal, it states the above.

Last night I deleted the cache, then uninstalled Logos, rebooted and then re-installed Logos.  Believe it or not I could access my book that I had downloaded offline. HOORAY!!!!!!!!!!!!   I stayed up till 1am downloading a large number of books.....wake up this morning to read them offline and the same message returned (bummer with a smile).

I know this is the testing phase....but I was wondering if anyone was experiencing this.....and hopefully it can be resolved.

 Thanks

In flight mode (all wireless connections disabled) I can access all books on the phone (Samsung Galaxy). But I installed Logos from the Android Market (I don't know if it makes any difference).

What is your phone? Why did you NOT install Logos from the Market?

It sounds like you're experiencing an error that was fixed in an earlier version of the App.

We have not updated that link in some time. We will be updating it shortly, but in the meantime I'd reccommend that you install the latest version from the Android Market: https://market.android.com/details?id=com.logos.androidlogos

    Thanks,

Hi Hunter, I'm unable to install the app from the Android Market or Appslib.....that's why I mentioned the Logos webite.   I should have mentioned earlier that I have an Android 2.2 tablet.  I also have an Android phone...however having the ability to use the tablet is most helpful for visual (larger screen) purposes.  Thnks Judy

downloading from this link assisted me in overcoming this error.  I will say that when i clicked on download I did not realize they wanted my google account not my logos acccount.  But once the install was complete. voila I could download and read the books requested.  What a great add on, to be able to use my phone to study when i am out of the office or on hold, in line etc.  Thank you[8-|]

    Hi Hunter,

For clarification, this issue is occurring with my Viewsonic G 16g tablet (have a 8gb micro SD card).  I have noticed two additional items in regards to the android beta program not being able to create resource display.

    1) After reinstalling Logos app, the ASV Bible reflects as being already downloaded and although I'm unable to open any other books without  internet   access,  it allows me to open the ASV and read it.

     2) I've also noticed that if I download a book.....and am unable to open the resource to display... there is a workaround.    If while connected to the internet, I          access the downloaded books for the scripture passage I'm reading.  Then if I disconnect the wifi/internet signal, select history......it allows me to review the pages I previously viewed.

What gets me is, if it can retain my historical viewing pages for airplane mode......How come it will not display downloaded books in airplane mode.

    Thanks for your help!

The ASV is downloaded automatically when you install the app so that you have a bible to provide keylink references for any other resources you might download.

In order to have other books available offline, you'll need to download them. To do so press the small arrow (in Library View) or the small "i" icon (in Reading View) and then select "Download".

Thanks for letting us know about that! That is qute interesting.

Hunter, as stated I've downloaded the books... and yet I'm still unable to read the book offline....."unable to create resource display" is the error I keep receiving (unless I do my little workaround).

    Thanks

    Hi Hunter,

I finally found a way to get my android beta to work on my android tablet (with the help of my daughter).   I reset my tablet back to factory reset.   Re-installed Logos from the Logos.com website.....downloaded some books and was still experiencing the problem with "unable to create resource display", or sometimes I could see my downloaded books in airplane mode...but then within a couple of hours or the next day the error would appear. I also believe that part of the problem is once the app is downloaded, and an application shortcut created, the error message appears like immediately.  I'm not sure if this has something to do with it or not, but thought I should mention it.

My solution.....reset tablet to factory reset.   I have an android phone. So then I did  a side loading of Logos (APP from android market was on my phone) via usb cable.   (note: just installing the app would not work).   Then I copied my Logos data files from my phone and placed them in my tablet under Android\Data file.  Then once those data files were loaded onto the tablet then I installed my application on my tablet.  From that point on I have not had a problem with reading my books in airplane mode.

Additional question, It does not appear that I have all the features such as passage guide, word study on the tablet as I have on the phone....even when I installed the app from the LOGOS website it was simply an e-reader of my current books with links to scriptures.  Is it capable at this time to perform such functions on the tablet...or is this a limitation.

    Thanks

    Judy

The link you using to install the app has not yet been updated to the current version.  We're working on fixing that, and when it is updated you will be able to install the latest version which includes access to the guide features.
