What are the best resources in the Logos library (Scholar's Eddition)

I am relatively new to Logos Bible software and am still learning about all of it's great features. I want to set up some collections and want to know which resources are the best and most reliable. I am interested in multiple categories like Bible Commentary, Dictionary, Lexicon, Grammar, Media, etc. A have the Scholar's edition of Logos.

Wiki has => http://wiki.logos.com/Example_Collections with many collection ideas. Many authors have different writing styles and view points; suggest reading to determine what is best for you (at this time).

My favorite commentary series is included in Scholar's Gold (and up); wiki Logos Resource Reviews => UBS New Testament Handbook Series and => UBS Old Testament Handbook Series

Which Scholar's Edition do you have?

Like being asked to list why your wife/husband is better than someone else's... with your wife/husband standing next to you!

Almost impossible... [:P] I just say "because she's the best" — and she is!

However... here are some resources I found helpful in deciding on commentary (sets) and other titles to then get in Logos.

You know I have looked at the UBS Old and New Testament Handbook Series, but at USD $400 each they were too much for me. The funny thing is I got both the sets via another platform (I won't name here) for only USD $ 33 each and I read them on my iPad. Of course I would much prefer to have them on Logos, but for a 1/10 of the price couldn't pass up on it. I just wonder why there is such a huge difference in price between the other system and Logos. [:(]

Jeff ... you need to take a bunch of buckets of water and put all those fires out west of you! Hope the rains come.

But need some more 'clues' on what library you have; you have a good question. Regardless of library, my constant 'go-to's' are Anchor Yale Bible Dictionary (pricey , but meets several needs), Word Biblical Commentary (tends to the conservative but in-depth, pretty balanced, and often discounted), BDAG/HALOT (no matter what, you'll eventually get them), and then the major interlinears (NA27 for NT, Lexham for OT, both you probably have).

Patrick ... what's up on the UBS Handbooks? I similarly got both the OT/NT for substantially less than $100 but $800 on Logos (which I assume is the publisher's requirement). When I saw that, I compared the articles in the Handbook between Logos and the mystery software; the same. I really like the UBS Handbooks but not for $800.

Thankful Scholar's Gold package includes UBS Handbooks plus many more resources for a better deal than purchasing UBS series for Logos use. Not know how another platform can offer for $ 33 for series; found several individual UBS handbooks in $ 20 to $ 30 range so $ 400 for 20 volumes appears plausible.
