Bug: Reading View Columns

I've recently installed Logos on a new computer and am currently running Logos 4.30.0.1597 on Windows 7 Home Premium.

I just started using the Reading View feature. The default column setting was 'Auto' and Logos initially displayed my current book in 5 columns on my 27" wide screen monitor. However, even though I'm using a large monitor, Logos keeps switching to 3 columns and won't let me select 4 or 5 columns, as you can see below. Restarting Logos occasionally does the trick but it isn't stable at all.

Hi Randy - and welcome to the forums.

The way Auto columns mode works is that it sometimes reduces the number of columns to allow specific "large" information - such as tables - to be shown correctly.

I see that you have a table shown in your screenshot.

If you read past this for a few days does it revert back to the 5 column mode?

I had thought of that but when I paged beyond the tables to text only, it still stuck. However, I figured out later that as one pages back and forth, Logos is trying to re-paginate based on what is nearby (i.e. upcoming or preceding tables). The particular section I was in has tables every 2-3 pages.

It's still a tad quirky in that sometimes it will display a table with one number of columns, then switch to a different number if you leave that page and come back. But once I hit a longer stretch of text-only the columns will return to the maximum number specified.

Anyway, now that I see what's going on, it's not a problem.

I do know that objects (such as book titles in Bibles) can change your desired column layout. Once changed, it doesn't go back.
