Logos 3 and Logos 4 sync

I just recently upgraded my Logos 3 Scholar's Library to Logos 4. I thought the upgrade would replace the old program but now I have both the Libronix Digital Library Systems and Logos 4 programs on my computer and am not sure how to merge them into one. Can I access all my notes, reading plans and workspaces etc. from Logos 4 or do I have to continue to use the Libronix Digital Library System? Thanks for any tips on this.

Libronix 3 and Logos 4 can peacefully coexist. Logos 4 can import Libronix 3 information, wiki => http://wiki.logos.com/Importing_from_LDLS3 (as many times as you desire, have option to maintain notes in Libronix 3, then import when desired). Caveat: am aware of some Libronix 3 users with extensive Notes who are longing for Notes improvements in Logos 4.

Note: Libronix 3 has Vocabulary and Word Lists, which are not yet available in Logos 4 (anticipating feature implementation some time next year)

Both programs co-exist on the computer. Logos4 (L4) will take any resources from Logos 3 (L3) that it cannot get from the Logos server, but you have to import documents from L3 ---> http://wiki.logos.com/Importing_from_LDLS3

Just ask if you have any other Q's ... or look through the wiki links in that article.

Installing L4 does NOT remove L3. Generally whenever a major new version of any software is released, it does not overwrite the previous version. You may want to keep L3, at least until you get the hang of L4. I am a Mac guy, so someone else will have to chime in about the benefits of keeping L3.

By the way, is your L4 resource files all downloaded and indexed yet?

Welcome to the Forum David. No you cannot merge the two into one. There will not be any problem running them side by side. Not sure as to how to access reading plans from Libronix in Logos 4. Enter the command "Import all" into the command box (top line) and it will import everything that can be moved from L3 into L4.

NOTE: Not everything will be imported. Your workspaces, your collections, and your settings to name just three items that are not imported into L4.

As I was reading some of my notes last night, it dawned on me that I should have also told you that not everything in your notes will be imported into L4. If you have any photos or tables, they will be removed. The color of your note icon could also be changed to yellow. Some (not many) of the spaces between words are changed to   for an example "Jesus said" could become "Jesus said".
