I'm consistently getting a crash when I try to export or print from the exegetical guide. I can usually do 1 page. Anything more than that crashes.

I'm running a toshiba a665d-s6076 with 4gig ram. AMD phenom II 850 triple core at 2.2ghz. Firefox 7.

The log is attached. 67184.Logos4Crash.txt

I cannot reproduce this crash. Can you post a screen shot of a guide that causes the crash? Also, what options are selected in the word by word section.

    Provide some more details, David

    • what passage?
    • does the crash occurs after you select export to Rich Text Format in the Print/Export window?
    • in Word by Word what bible is selected?
    • is the crash repeatable?

I am having this problem no matter what passage I select (I'm working with the NA27.) and try to print or export. I have all the options in the word by word section selected. The print/export window comes up. It gives the preview, but when I select any of the options (print, copy, save as... ) it crashes after the file name dialog. The only thing that has worked was exporting to an xps file, but the contents of the file were a "blur" (see attached screen shot2). This has been repeating every time I try...

    David,

Thanks for the screen shot and additional information. I'm sorry I cannot reporduce this crash. I exported to Word 2010; copied it to the clipboard anf then pasted it; exported it as an RTF; and exported it to PowerPoint. All worked perfectly.

EDIT: I emailed Melissa at logos to alert them to this thread.

    David,

To help us narrow down the cause of the crash, could you answer the following?

    1. Does the crash still occur if you change the setting on the left of the Print/Export window to "Print as exported"?
    2. Does the crash still occur if you change the Printer selection, either to an alternate printer if you have one, or to "Microsoft XPS Document Writer"?  (Try both 'Print' and 'Save as file' with the new Printer selection.)
    3. Does the crash still occur if you change Word by Word to the default settings: "Show only lemmas occuring 30 times or fewer" and "Include only these parts of speech--Verb, Noun, Adjective, Adverb"?

    1) It does. It makes it crash immediately.

    2) I tried to change to the XPS writer. It crashed when I tried "save as" but it did export an xps (that doesn't help me though because I have to edit what I export).

    3) it still crashes with those changes.

Thanks for the additional information. I will pass it on to development.

Update: This should be fixed in version 4.5. When a 4.5 release candidate is ready and made available and has been installed, let us know if the problem reoccurs (and provide new logs). As a workaround, try using a different resource for the Word by Word section, such as one of the reverse interlinear Bibles in the meantime.
