Why doesn't Logos give you the ability to read the copyright translation of Bibles that you want to? For instance, the 2011 NIV has just been updated, but I don't necessarily want to use the 2011. I would like to use the 1984.

its Zondervan who have asked Logos to stop selling it, I would contact them.
You may be able to pickup a copy on the net, think it may have been part of concordia study bible disc, but it may have been updated to 2011..

The NIV84 is still available through Logos, but as was mentioned, Zondervan asked that it be pulled from Base Packages. You can buy it through the following link:

That's kinda backwards. You have to pay for the things that you already had, and keep the things that you didn't ask for...? HA!
I don't understand your reasoning. You have to pay for things that you want in addition to the base package. People that had NIV 84 (through a pre-KF base package) don't lose it and don't need to pay extra - through the package upgrade they received NIV 2011 in addition to what they had - some for free.
Basically, Logos puts together the base packages out of different concerns which include the probable interest of a number of customers as well as the availabilty of packagable licences. Thus every user with a base package (or any set of multiple resources) is likely to have things he/she didn't ask for - nobody forces you to use those, you may even "hide" them (i.e. delete them from your PC).
If you had it before, you should have it now. If you didn't have it then, you can buy it now. What's funny about that?
