Hmm, I must confess this leads me to pondering the possibilities...
Ah, I see we're moving from KF to JG packages now.
( http://community.logos.com/forums/p/28219/208946.aspx#208946 ) Here's all the generations of our packages so far: RA: Libronix 1 QB: Libronix 2 OC: Libronix 3 ND: Libronix 3 (maintenance update) LE: Logos 4 KF: Logos 4 (maintenance update)
Here's all the generations of our packages so far:
Um.
Before upgrading to JG the diff between gold and platinum was: $3,370
After upgrading to JG the diff between Gold and Platinum is $4000
So...?
Hmmm...it tells me I can upgrade my Platinum (KF) to Platinum (JG) for free, but I can't figure out what the differences are. ??
What's the dollar difference listed? There was a $630 deficit listed for the Gold KF to Gold JG upgrade - but I went ahead and did so since I can't lose licenses.
It says the approximate value of content between my old Platinum and the new Platinum is $0.00. I'm more and more confused [:O]
I went ahead and did so since I can't lose licenses.
When you upgraded, did your Logos download any new resources?
A little more info on what exactly is involved with the upgrade would be helpful.
I'm guessing the $0.00 means no change beyond the letters.
But I'm fairly certain that something was dropped from Gold.

Yes:
Prior to the "upgrade" I only updated Logos 4 Help as an updated resource. So these were likely tied to Gold... except I thought I had them already. At least I had several Lexham resources and I can't remember which ones.
Hmmm...perhaps trying to rebalance the value of Platinum by bumping something from Gold up to Platinum?
I am now downloading 66.6 MB of something.
That sounds about like my memory. Let me know if it's Lexham+RCL.

You hit the nail on the head.
Hmmm...perhaps trying to rebalance the value of Platinum by bumping something from Gold up to Platinum? No it plainly indicated a -$630 value (note the negative sign) in the Gold upgrade.
Right, there was a $630 value "loss" in Gold, but according to your screenshot, there was a $630 value "increase" in Platinum. Wouldn't that mean that $630 "worth" of resources got bumped from Gold to Platinum?
[Y]
For Portfolio ($0 crossgrade), I expected to see the new series include Perseus/etc resources added in, but they aren't obviously there.
The long comparison chart at the bottom isn't helpful in this special case--they should show your old version vs the new version for cross-grades.
At least the screen has stopped trying to sell me things I already own!

No. The numbers I showed was the diff btwn Gold and Platinum, so they only show gold as a baseline. With the drop in value in gold the diff price changed by the same amount.
I upgraded from Portfolio KF to Portfolio JG for $0.00. I ran the script and it took about 1 second and said my library was updated. I refreshed the homepage and it said about 200 or so of my resources were upgraded. Some commentaries like pulpit and EEC were upgraded. Some of the new Perseus stuff says it was upgraded. I can't tell if there were any new resources. But it looked like it upgraded about 200 resources I already own probably for the new version.
I assume that this means the values of the base packages if purchased NOW. If we already own resources, we won't lose what we have already purchased. Is this correct - or am I missing something?
Hmmm! 666 - "This calls for wisdom: let the one who has understanding calculate the number of the beast, for it is the number of a man, and his number is 666." Re 13:18, ESV.
Now if I can only find my Heretical Guide to Numerical Interpretation (unfortunately, no Logos edition is available), write Bob Pritchett on a pad of paper - let's see ... subtract a Dan ... add 586 BC ... subtract 95 AD ... convert from English to Greek ... toss in a bit of Hebrew ...
Don't you see, it all works out! This is a conspiracy I tell ya!

Correct Ron, you own the resources you have. They will not be taken away from you. Any package changes to the negative only apply to future purchasers.

Lol. Thanks for the chuckle.
That should have been addressed to Floyd, rather than me [;)]

That should have been addressed to Floyd, rather than me Oh. yeah. Dear Floyd, Read above. Thanks.
Not a problem - I have been know to make some a few mistakes as write to the forums. Glad I am not alone.
Thank you for the history...
I do wish there was a resource to go to that laid out the differences item by item. It would clear up a lot of confusion. Your post of the generations is good info. Thank you again. I hope Logos will add a link to a page that lays out the generations side by side in a spreadsheet fashion and has a downloadableExcel spreadsheet with the info. Dream'in ;-)
