Logos only downloads one volume of the Perseus Collection then wants to be restarted. It then indexes and then downloads one more book. At this rate it will take forever to download the collection. Any suggestions?

What are your computer specs? What is your internet connection like? What version of Logos are you running? What OS? What collections did you order?
HP Pavilion dv7 Notebook PC Intel ® Core™ i5 CPU M460@2.53GHz RAM: 6.00 GB (5.8 GB usable) Windows 7 Professional 64-bit Operating System.
Hughesnet. The latest stable release of Logos 4. All of the collections. Never had this particular problem before.
Logos only downloads one volume of the Perseus Collection then wants to be restarted
Please upload logos4.log + logos4Indexer.log so we can see what is happening as per http://wiki.logos.com/Diagnostic_Logging
I find it hard to believe that it is downloading "one book" at a time (unless it is a large book). How large are the downloads? I know that some users are receiving sub collections one at a time. Is it possible that this is what is happening to you?
Also, did you upgrade your base package with the new "free" one?
It will say that it is downloading 1.02 gb, but then it actually only downloads one title and indexes. I have went to library several times, selected the most recently downloaded column and seen exactly what it is doing. I'm walking by sight and not by faith on this one. I'm not sure what you mean by upgrading my base package with the new free one. I have ordered all of the Perseus Collections. I have also went to programs and did a repair Logos command.

As far as your issue is concerned, you will need to follow Dave's advice. Your problem is beyond my Apple Mac mind. [:)]
I'm not sure what you mean by upgrading my base package with the new free one.
Logos has changed the base packages from KF to JG. If you have not "upgraded" you can still do so. I am not sure what new resources you may receive. It seems to be a pretty minor upgrade. It is a free upgrade to those with a KF base package.
So how do you do the upgrade? I have the Scholars Library and a ton of other books and collections, like Spurgeon, etc. Dave, I followed your suggestion and will see what happens at 2:00 in the morning when I have unlimited downloads. Thanks to both of you.
I found the upgrade and downloaded it and now Logos crashes everytime I try to start it:

Go to http://www.logos.com/user/orders/1159105 for instructions on how to download and unlock the products you've just purchased.
Now my Logos 3 lost all of my data. Is that from what you had me do Dave?
BUMP
I don't think what Dave had you do had any bearing on your lost data. I've "bumped" this thread though so that someone will hopefully be able to help you out soon.
Michael,
The setup log says you already have L4 installed to the current version.
The Logos4.log file says that it is having trouble with your licenses in some way.Are you able to get into Logos 4? If not, are you logging in with the right ID? If not, have you tried a system re-boot to clear any faulty data? If not, have you tried to open Logos using the CTRL key method and tried to open Logos off-line?
The indexer file says that the user has shut it down?? Did you do anything to terminate the indexer? Otherwise it seems to have been doing fine, and looking for or at a large download.
Nothing jumps out and says 'Here's the problem.'
?? But please check your My Documents folder to see if your Libronix DLS folder is still there with the data in it (note files, etc.)
Mark, First of all I realized my comment toward Dave sounded accusatory, I didn't mean it to sound that way, I just wondered if that could be the cause. I have rebooted my system and Logos 4 will start fine if I hold the control key while I start it and work offline. If I don't it crashes. All of my Libronix files seem to be there as well. But my custom set-up and layout is gone. Seemingly all of my preferences. I can open any book I have tried to there though. Thanks to everyone for your very prompt help!
I'm glad that you can at least get to Logos 4 and your irreplaceable L3 data is there (back it up). The user preference data is in another folder location in L3 which i can't recall at this time and don't have L3 on this computer to check. If we can find out where that is (Dave will know) we can check to see what's there.
The logs showed something funny going on with synching or downloading licenses and with the indexer being terminated. It might be that you'll need to call Customer Service eventually to get that cleared up.
BTW: you might also try using the CTRL key to logon to Logos online but opening to a blank screen. The Indexer mentioned doing something with the ESV Reverse Interlinear OT. Maybe you have that open in a default layout? It could be worth trying.
I didn't mean it to sound that way, I just wondered if that could be the cause.
A Download database was found in your recent logos4.log as that was re-created after you deleted it. The bitsadmin /reset would clear any download jobs interfering with Logos' downloads, so they could be restarted.
The cause of the crash was related to the licence manager getting latest data, which is done each time L4 is started. In this case I'm presuming it has extra data because of the base Library upgrade.
But my custom set-up and layout is gone. Seemingly all of my preferences.
Please clarify if this applies to L4 or L3
Logos 4 will start fine if I hold the control key while I start it and work offline. If I don't it crashes.
I need a better idea of what is happening. Please:
The comment about my setup is for L3. When I start L4 now while holding the cntrl key it says it is preparing my library and has stayed there ever since I tried starting it the last time.

Michael, if in fact it downloaded the whole Perseus collection but just didn't get it indexed properly, the preparing your library screen could be there for some time. Just let it run and see what develops.
. Just let it run and see what develops.
If it crashes upload the logs before you restart L4.
I turned it off this morning, preparing resources and didn't download anything. Here are my logs.

None of the other issues come up here. It was trying repeatedly to replace the Library Catalog Index. Try again but make sure nothing could be interfering with or scanning the Logos4 folder e.g. Security Suite.
Yesterday I received notification that the Perseus Renaissance collection was ready to download. I fired up Logos 4 and it said there was an 18.6MB download coming. But nothing is downloading, in the last 24 hours?
First time I have ever experienced this issue and was wondering if someone else had or had an idea as to what I could do to maybe clear the issue and start fresh.
Any thoughts or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
18.6 MB is pretty small. Are you sure it didn't already download? Have you checked your Library (filter under Perseus). Also, have you restarted your computer & logos?
No, I already checked my Library - all of the other Perseus files that I have been notified of for download are there not this group - and yes I thought 18.6 Mb was small. I have restarted my computer several times since the original "Updated Found - Downloading" but the update always shows only 0% of 18.6Mb.

Attached are my logs from a short time ago.
If anyone has a thought let me know. Thanks Alabama24 for the quick response. Been using L4 since the beta days and have never encountered this particular issue. I know there is an answer out there though [:D]
Kenneth ~ I recommend contacting Customer Support for assistance at 800-875-6467. They're available Mon-Fri from 6am to 5pm Pacific time.
Well Melissa nobody on the support desk 1 or 2 was able to help.
This log was empty. Could you upload a new set of logs?
Problem fixed Dave. Went on with Customer Servicce got to Tier 2 and stumped the tech...unfortunately. We had a job in BITS that could not be reset. It was listed as suspended but would not allow a reset. All of the other Logos jobs in there reset, not not the one listed as 'WU Client Download' showed as SUSPENDED and still does.
I decided to go back to a restore point from the 7th of October after I had downloaded and indexed the Arabic Collection. Once I did that and ran any updates I needed to re-run, started Logos and the updates started rolling in.
Doing a bitsadmin /list /allusers still shows:
'WU Client Download' SUSPENDED
and
'Logos 4: Update:5922' Error (Not sure what this is so maybe someone can let me know.)
So if I do a bitsadmin /reset /allusers (I am the only user on this system), it removes the Logos error, but not the other one. Tried to look up what it is, but to no avail.
If you have any thoughts would love to hear them.
That's a Windows Update job and I also have one! However, even with a "run as Admin" Command Prompt I was unable to remove it (bitsadmin /Cancel <job>). It didn't interfere with a recent Windows Update so I would leave it alone.
Dave, the problem was that I am not familiar with using the bitsadmin /cancel <job> and wasn't able to identify the job name of:
{A0022E78-3192-410C-8F78-A04FE562A320} 'WU Client Download' SUSPENDED 0 / 1 0 /UNKNOWNListed 1 job(s).
Which also caused an issue with the Logos tech.
{A0022E78-3192-410C-8F78-A04FE562A320}
That's the job name, complete with brackets, but you won't have the necessary access to cancel it (owned by the System).
My Logos is still not working. I need help. I work full-time, help teach my children at home, have a home church... and love it when Logos works for a long time, but get pretty frustrated when a program that has cost a lot of money is useless for quite a while because of a glitchy upgrade. And no I don't have time to call tech support and spend a long time on hold.
Holding the control button down and working offline doesn't work for me now and I don't have time to be on these forums 24/7. Here are my latest logs.

Do you want Perseus? If not first get Logos to revoke the licence.
Then re-install L4 using Quick Method 3 i.e.
Information is in the wiki article.
Note that Method 2 would be quicker but will only work if you have another working installation.
Just got off the phone with Mike Bryant from Logos Tech Support. First things first, a big thanks to Mike! The reason Logos wouldn't open is because a recent windows update hid a lot of Logos 4 folders. Once we went through and "unhid" them Logos 4 started up and seems to be running correctly. I will see how it downloads tonight from 2-7 am and report back. My Libronix is still missing it's settings though. Thanks again!
Just got off the phone with Mike Bryant from Logos Tech Support. ....
I'm glad you got around to doing that. Please report progress with Perseus.
I made sure no folders, sub-folders, etc. were hidden and it fixed my problem in Logos 3 and 4. All of my Perseus downloaded last night and is indexing now. I'm not sure which Windows update hid them, but all is well now. Thanks everyone! That was the simplest fix ever.
