PB Bug: Heading Field

In the below document I have my headings tagged as such. The document's information page indicates that heading tags are present. In the document everything looks good, but in the documents TOC it displays the tag. Is this a known issue? I never ran into it before.

A Word Heading style will get you the TOC entries but these are not compiled as a field "Heading text" i.e. not searchable as heading text. So your aim was to make them searchable as a field?

i am not sure this is a bug in L4, figure it has to do with how they are parsing headings. But if you apply your fields on separate lines surrounding your heading it works. The separate lines are not a problem as L4 strips out extra lines in our PBs. And my headings show up in the Search tool when using Headings as a field.

EDIT: in your docx you had your fields marked as headings, so if you just add a new line around the fields you will also need to make sure that the fields are not set to the style headings after putting them on a new line.

This compiles OK but ndoes not give me Heading text as a field to Search

And it affects the spacing between Matthew 5:9-12 and the first line of Bible text (Matt 5:9).

My indexing is having problems right now, so i will show you a different PB which compiled properly before my indexing problem started.

A. Here in my docx file you can see that i setup a phrase which is encapsulated in heading field tags.

B. Notice that after compiling the PB it shows to have Heading shown in the search fields.

C. Now if i search for one of the words in the Search window using the Headings field that the word is found. Keep in mind as you reminded me long ago is that we need to wait a few minutes after the PB indexes before Search will find anything in our My Books.

D. After the search is complete i even see my word highlighted in my PB.

PS: i am still running SR-3

That works OK, where text is Normal style.

You are right, i got my indexing working again by using Quick-Install and now i see that i probably used the Large Text field in conjunction with the Heading field in my search (kinda instinct for me). So it does look like a bug in that L4 does not add TOC entries as a Heading when they are tagged with heading. (but for a work-around others can use Large Text in addition to Heading when searching)
