Reading Plan doesn't sync and update

Today is Oct. 16.

The last date showing on my reading plan on my iPod is Oct. 8.

In Logos 4, the reading plan is up to date.

On the iPod all the dates are checked as read, but it does not update.

Also, I have created new reading plans in Logos 4 and none of them show up on my iPod.

Is there something I need to do to get the reading plans to sync?

Thank you,

Rob

Rob - Unfortunately there are sync issues between the desktop and mobile apps which cannot be resolved. Logos is currently working to bring out a new sync infrastructure, which will be debuted in 4.5 (currently in beta). This will bring "Sync v2" and will allow for improvements in reading plans, and add notes & highlighting to the mobile apps.

Is there something I need to do to get the reading plans to sync?

There is nothing you can do. Sorry.

Thank you for the info. I have been trying various things and was thinking of uninstalling and reinstalling the app.

This info is helpful to know not to do that.

Is it normal that even my reading plan on the iPod doesn't work? Even though they are marked as read (complete with the checkmarks next to each day), it still won't load up the current reading plan. This is just pulling up the plan, not really syncing where I am between the iPod and Desktop.

    Thank you,

    Rob

The problem is that the mobile apps rely upon syncing. I have not examined it too carefully, but I think that you will find that there is probably about 2 weeks worth of readings. This is designed so that if you are away for a couple of weeks without internet, you will have your plan with you. If things were working properly, there would always be about 2 weeks worth of readings available into the future. Since your syncing is not currently working, you have the past 2 weeks worth of readings!

I use the mobile app sparingly because I like to highlight and take notes while I read. However, I do peek at my reading plan every now and then. Currently, It is showing that I am almost 2 weeks behind, even though I read and check off my progress on my computer daily. My previous experience would lead me to believe that at some unknown time in the future, the sync will temporarily work, catching my plan up to date and downloading new readings. I think you will find the same. I am, however, eagerly waiting for the update. I expect that my daily readings will become almost exclusively on my mobile apps.

Wow, glad I checked. One of the most powerful apps I have ever used (Logos 4) is also one of the most frustrating on the mobile apps, especially on the Daily Bible Reading plan.  An update would help this would help tremendously.

While you are at it, it would be a big help to add the feature to the Bible reading that enables you to check off the chapter read and have it retained (like Olive Tree). In other words, when you read one or two chapters of a daily reading, and then come back later to finish that daily reading later, the program should retain the info that you have read some of the chapters of the daily reading.  It should enable you to check off each chapter as you finish it, and retain this information, not just the entire daily reading of four chapters.

    Thanks much.

Being able to check off sections, or having it remember where we left off would be great.

As it is, it does remember where I left off reading, but not that I was in a reading plan. If I leave the app, I need to restart the reading plan and scroll through to where I left off.

It would be great to be able to leave the app and come back in and continue where I was, still within the reading plan.

This is the same problem that I have been having for the last month or so. Just another frustration with the iPhone app. I have a lot of opinions about Logos that are pretty negative because of little things like this that don't work.

I have been told that they are "working on it" hope this is true. Time will tell.
