I never thought about this, but happen to have bought a textbook containing fill-in assignments this weekend. It is writable!
One may copy and paste text in/from the box.

What is a PB?
Robert - A PB is a user created "Personal Book" compiled by "Personal Book Builder" (PBB). It uses .docx files.
I thought PBB only excdepted .docx files
True, but one can easily make .docx files that have enterable fields. Converting to PB ignores that feature.
