Graphical problems (on XP)

I experience problems with the graphics. I have installed Logos 4 on a Windows XP virtual machine running on Parallels Desktop for Mac OS X. It might be Parallels' fault but I like to hear if other XP-users experiences the same.

Here is a video captured when updating. For some reason the animation stopped when I captured it, but you get an idea of how it looks. I do not think it is supposed to look like that. The last part of the video is just me trying to move the capture area to show other errors, but Jing (the capture program) would not allow me.

Here is a picture. Notice the vertical line. It looks weird to me, but I have no idea how it was supposed to look. Also notice the misplaced popup-window looking bad and not disappearing even though the mouse was moved:

Well well, one day after that post Parallels 5 were released. Now there is no problems with the graphics at all… except one: http://screencast.com/t/dv1ePN48 (I have marked the error with a red frame). Weird… but I believe this is Parallels not handling it properly.

I think it runs a bit faster now too.

So the bottom line is: No errors in Logos 4 at this point, but an upgrade to Parallels 5 is worth the money for all you Mac-users out there.

Hi can you post your system specs? Have you updated to the latest graphics drivers? I forgot for which supplier but I read someone who was having graphics problems went back to an older driver and it fixed some issues.

My Windows computer is a virtual machine running on Parallels and my video card therefore is "Parallels Video Adapter". I just upgraded Parallels to a new major version (from 4 to 5) so I do not think it would be wise to downgrade the graphics drivers (I do not even think it is possible to find older versions). Furthermore, the new version fixed most of the problems, except that one vertical line – which by the way is a small problem compared to the major problems with flighty popup-windows fixed by the new version.

I too had graphics issues until I upgraded Parallels. However, I am running on a MacPro dual 3.2ghz Xeon's, 285GTX video w/1gb ram.

Under v4 Parallels there was compression of some fonts especially when I used the Search?Aliened Verses. The text would compress into an unreadable ribbon of color.

The problem disappeared in v5 of Parallels.

The problem you highlighted is a line that starts at the top of that section. It should look like this

I wouldn't worry if thats the only issue. When I search any blue text in the Search all passages line has a, seeming mirror, below it.

Maybe it is because Logos 4 is too heavy for my computer. I have a 1st gen. MacBook, 1,83GHz, 2GB RAM with 1GB assigned to Parallels. Even when not having visual quirks it run a bit slow.

This has happened to me too, in fact I had some graphic issues which were never ever reflected in screen captures for some strange reason, I think though slower computers are more prone to experiencing graphical errors like these, like for example on my machine sometimes I'll have to bring down a menu or the library to cause it to redraw the screen, but I noticed if I turn down the Windows performance settings to 'best performance' (right-click my computer, properties, advanced settings, performance settings button) then these graphical issues actually go away.. In general faster computers will most likely not experience graphics issues.. FYI My system specs are: AMD 3000+ 1.8Ghz, 2GB ram, Win 7 x64
