I have way too many resources on my iPhone

Search is slow and browsing through the catalog is painful. So I have many resources I do not use and have hidden so they won't show up on the phone. Well that did not work. They still show up on the phone. I even hid the ASV and it not only still shows up it shows that it is downloaded and I cannot turn the downloading button to off.

Is there some way to "update resources" (so to speak) on the iPhone so that it matches the computer? I did try to uninstall it and after re-installing all the same items appeared in my library on the phone a day after hiding them on the computer.

Note: I would still like to have a way to control what shows in the library on my iPhone without having to hide things on the computer. A button right next to download could be Hide/Un-hide. Show a new link under the settings that shows a list of all hidden items so I can open and un-hide them.

There are several resources built into the app which you cannot remove. The ASV is one of them. When you hide resources on your computer, they should hide on your mobile device BUT there are sync issues now. If you wait a couple of weeks, they will probably disappear. (Logos is overhauling the sync features currently in 4.5 beta)

I have almost  experimented and hidden resources for your PC don't hide on the mobile app, at least the phone app. I don't know about the ipad app.

I appreciate all the resources that are available for Logos 4, but the functions for managing them are seriously deficient and behind the volume of resources.  It seems that logically there are several kinds of resources:

-ones you want available like ariplane mode.  Would be great if that function worked with just radio buttons without so many clicks to get in and out.  However, this is almost worthless without indexing.

-one you want visible on your PC and in the cloud

-hidden ones - that you own license for but have chosen to not make available for either PC or mobile app.  It would be great if these could be managed in groups maybe even in the same way that you can highlight groups to set tags for the whole group.  A simple additional choice to hide the group.

I have no idea what you just said. You almost experimented? I think you are trying to say that hidden resources on the PC don't hide on the mobile app. I am fairly certain that this is wrong. My "hidden" resources do not show up on my mobile apps. If the resources are still showing, I believe it is because the sync hasn't had time to work (this is another aspect of the sync problems).

Is there any way for those of us that don't use PC or Mac (there is no Linux version of logos) to hide resources on our mobile app? I was hoping to be able to hide resources from the website account but that doesn't seem to be available...

Nope. Here is what I said:

The two weeks was referring to the hidden resources on the mobile device "catching up" to the desktop app. In other words, it might take a couple of weeks for the sync to work.

HI and good to meet you – at least on the forum.

For many of the volunteers that try and help out with problems here - it is hard for us to conceptualise working with Logos without the facility to use either our PC or Mac. We see the full range of Logos power demonstrated on our desktop/laptops every day. The mobile apps are like looking through a dirty window at a picture that has so much more to offer.

However to address, in part your question, while there may be no way to hid resources in the mobile apps there is a way to filter your library using the 'type:'  command in the search bar. For instance type:bible will filter your library to those resources that are 'versified' as bibles or like bibles.

A whole lot of 'type:' filters can be found in the wiki.

Not a complete answer but one which may help out in specific circumstances.

Linux option: install a free virtual machine manager (e.g. Oracle's VirtualBox or VMWare Server), install Microsoft Windows in virtual machine (needs a license, may have been included with hardware purchase), then install Logos 4 in Windows virtual machine.  Could use open source for other Windows software (e.g. PDF print driver).
