Purchased sofware in 1998

I purchased four diskettes in 1998. Under the old Windows 32 bit - I could easily load in and change to Libronix.

I use Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit and now it does not recognize the diskettes - as it tell me to notify the siftware company. I wrote Logos and email and they sent me an email - no help and not much information.

Do I have to reformat my computer and run Windows 7 Ultimate 32 bit?

I'm assuming the diskettes you are running are Logos 2? Your license WILL translate to Logos 3 (Libronix/L3) or Logos 4 with a mere phone call to Logos customer service they will set everything right for you there.

If you prefer to continue running Logos 2, there is yet another option before you.

Windows 7 ultimate will run XP mode, and that will run as a 32bit virtual computer - In other words you should be able to Load your diskettes in virtual mode.

No - Iwould like to run Logos 4 so I can add to the collection. The problem I was having was not being able to load anything at all after I reformatted the hard drives to Windows 7 64 bit.

I see. You'll have to get the license file off of the disks (I'm assuming one of them is the license backup disk?).

There are two ways to go about this.

1. Install the XP mode → Install Logos 2 off the disks → upgrade to L3 on that same XP mode installation which will import your licenses → sync your licenses in L3 once everything is up and running (all of this in XP mode). → install L4 on your regular (non-xp-mode) desktop, and sign in with your same email address/username/password that you've used all along the way.

2. install L4, Call Customer service and tell them you'd like to move your license from L2 diskettes to your shiny new L4 installation, they'll do the rest.

Personally, I'd pick #2 unless I wanted to walk through nostalgia. Of course you'll have to wait till they open on Monday if you want to go through Customer service and by then you could have all of step 1 done. :-)

I did exactly what you stated in your email and was able to load the software into Windows XP Mode. I have uploaded all to (LibronixL3). In the next couple of weeks I plan to load the software into Logo 4.

I appreciate your expertise. To answer your question - No - I do not prefer to use the old diskette version. I was using (LibroxixL3) - howvever when I reformatted my hard drives to Window 7 Ultimate 64 bit - I was unable to load the software. I looked for the Windows XP Mode - couldn't find it as I didn't know I had to download that as well.
