Looking at getting a tablet for Logos. What is the best Os to install. Saw one within price range, but the reviews are almost unamious, the os needs to change before you can get the most out of it.

So what os do you recommend?

I don't think you can chose to put a different OS onto an Android tablet than Android. That's the whole point of them. If you're buying an Android tablet, it will have Android 3.0 or above by definition. Make sure you get one that will auto-update to the latest version of Android when it is released. But that's a function of the manufacturer, I thought. I don't know enough about various versions of Android to be able to help you more. I've had Android 3.2 and 3.3 on my tablet (auto-updated) and Logos works fine. I heard that 4.0 (code-named "Ice Cream Sandwich") is coming out soon but I don't know what is new about it, other than that it will be the same OS across tablets and phones, finally.

Thanks Rosie. The one I was contemplating had Android 2.2 on it. The reviews that I read said that if you upgraded, you voided the warranty. May have to look at something from a recognized manufacturer. Any suggestions. Trying to keep within 400.00 including Taxes and shipping to a US address. When it lands on the home soil, there are additional taxes.

Hmm, yeah I'd go with a reputable manufacturer: e.g., Asus, Samsung, Motorola, Acer.

I've got an Asus EeePad Transformer and it's very nice, does auto-update to the latest version of the OS. You'll probably find it hard to get an Android 3.0+ tablet for under $400 with taxes and shipping, but I did find the Asus EeePad Transformer 16GB version available from WalMart for $398.  All the cheaper tablets seem to have Android 2.2, and those are not auto-updatable. That's what I was remembering about 3.0. I think that's the first version that auto-updates.

Here's my brief description of why I chose the Asus over the others I considered: http://community.logos.com/forums/p/34428/258385.aspx#258385

And here are some of my blog posts on my early experience with it: http://faithandtechnology.org/blog/category/android/

From forum discussions, Logos iOS app currently offers bit more than Android app.

Apple has couple refurbished 1st generation iPad's (Wifi 64 GB or Wifi+3G 32 GB) for $ 399.00 plus tax (shipping included).
