Why can't you imbeciles comprehend what I am saying? Why should this ball bat cowboy get any recognition for his accomplishments? He doesn't have superior intellect, like Me. He doesn't have all the degrees that I have. He hasn't mastered all the ancient languages that I have. Who could think that he matters in the grand scheme of things? Why don't we focus on Me, and forget this peon?
Isn't it the second trip around the block for this one? What are you trying to say?

The more pertinent question is : What are You trying to say? A Logos employee (Jonathan) has twice asked the forum at large to return this thread to it's original topic. One might assume that your need to be in the spotlight has caused your open defiance to his appeal, even after others have acquiesced. Obviously, the inflammatory post has been recycled. It is ironic that You are the one doing the recycling. Possibly it is time to heed your own advice? You have a right to your opinion, but you need to keep it more to yourself. Please note that No One supports your twisted views. The only endorsement you could possibly claim is that some kindhearted posters have granted you the Right to be Wrong.

"Kilroy", please note that the inflamatory poste that Sam cites is NOT something that I wrote (Go to the post itself and note the post count). Secondly, you're wrong when you say that "NO ONE supports" my views. Perhaps no one supports the post Sam quoted, but that was not mine. You may now apologise.
How very sad that you feel this way. I am most impressed with Pujols and his witness
Many have pointed out how abrasive and obnoxious your remarks are.
I disagree with George
One difference between your experience and the one you described from the book is that Albert knows the players he is talking to.
this man witnessed to people for 20 years in this same place...coming up to people in a bold witness that has been described like I did above...and God used him to save thousands....
Grabbing someone by the collar, shaking him and asking "Are you saved, brother" is not the most effective method of furthering the gospel. We don't need hit-and-run evangelism. Is this a straw man or have you literally experienced this? And has anyone ever seen Albert Pujols do this?

Calling Albert's method of evangelism "hit and run" is very funny considering the baseball imagery. It is also very inaccurate. Albert is doing what we all should do. He is witnessing to the people in his work place when the opportunity is presented. These are not people "off the street corner." These are Albert's professional colleagues. We should take Albert's example to heart. Soli Deo Gloria, Randy

George, I must say you come across unusually immature in these comments for one who is usually so wise. Yours is a most unfair caricature of Pujols' evangelism, and a most unchristian attitude.

I said I disagree with George, but I do not disagree with his right to express his opinion, nor do I find him to be excessively abrasive. In fact, there is merit to his view that long-term relationships are more effective in evangelism than quick comments. I just do not rule out the value of the latter method.
nor do I find him to be excessively abrasive.
Fortunately, Some are brave enough to tell the whole truth.

I disagreed with what George said about Albert Pujols. This is long ago ceased to be about that. George has my unconditional support in his concern about his identity being hijacked on this form. If someone disagrees with what another has said they should say so openly. What some unknown did to George was cowardly. I have written to George and expressed my support to him. No one should be subjected to what George was.
nor do I find him to be excessively abrasive.Gotta give it to ya , Jack. You tried. You couldn't deny that he is abrasive ... Just not "excessively" abrasive. That's what friends are for. And thanks for expanding on what you originally said. Now it's a definite maybe. Fortunately, Some are brave enough to tell the whole truth. Thought I was finished with this this thread, but this was such a superb post that I must add my agreement [Y]

[Y] Interesting thread.
Interesting thread.
Willard, your brevity is therapeutic. [:D]

[um] Go Cards ! [um]
Cool. We get a 7th game. [G]
[G][G] HHHMMMmmm~~~ [G][G]
What about those cards? Go Rangers go!!
I bought the book on my Kindle. Looks like it's a good read so far. Sports and witnessing do go hand in hand. by the way who of us is perfect anyway. Not golfers for sure. but i do have a many opportunities to witness to the guys over a four hour round and a bud or two. That doesn't turn them off at all just makes me more like one of the guys w/o the rough talk and slamming the clubs.
Yep sure was a good game last night, but unfortunately for the Cards that was their only miracle
Go Rangers Go!!
Edit: Obviously not a prophet. Cards are Champs...AGAIN[:D]
well what can i say? I can't believe the pitching! Anyway!!!!!!!! I guess it was nice for the Cards to win in their home-field park. Am I a profit? Lost money on this.
I read the blurb from Nelson on the book. I noted the comment regarding his interchange with opposing players on 1st. I really find that off-putting.

If you are saying that I advocate NOT doing evangelism, you couldn't be further from the truth. Just because I don't advocate overly aggresive practices doesn't mean that I oppose evangelism.

Not only do I not view his actions as "overly aggressive", I don't even see this as aggressive.

I said I disagree with George, but I do not disagree with his right to express his opinion, nor do I find him to be excessively abrasive. Very good. We have determined that Mr. Pujols' actions were neither "aggressive" nor "overly aggressive." However Mr. Somsel's actions were indeed "abrasive" just not "excessively abrasive." It is becoming somewhat clearer.
We have determined no such thing. What we have "determined" is that SOME consider Pujol's actions as aggressive (or "overly agressive") while others do not and that some consider my actions as "abrasive" while others do not. Matters of fact are not determined by popular vote.

I suppose we will have to agree to disagree, but you are still wrong.
Are facts determined by your decree?[
Of course, everyone recognizes that fact. [;)]

Willard, if that is indeed your name.
I note that you, like those of last weekend are rather short in the area of post count and that these have been accumulated largely through replying to me. If I were the suspicious type, which I am naturally not, I would think that you might be a troll like the others. It would seem that you are intent upon being provocative nd thereby generating conflict therefore I will no longer interact with you since I would consider your intent to be purely malicious. Normally, if I understand the folklore correctly, trolls are considered to come out at night and to disappear with the dawn. In the case of internet trolls it would seem that they come out on the weekends when the Logos office is closed — when the cat's away the mice will play. Good day to you. [:P]

Wow, I came to this thread thinking I'd get a run-down on the World Series or on Christians playing in it, but instead found a run-down on George Somsel!
So how's about them Cardinals?? Did anyone watch?
I will no longer interact with you since I would consider your intent to be purely malicious. I just wanted to quote this line, making it a bit harder for you to edit or delete it.
Troll or not (the first seems more likely the case), you're not contributing to the original intent of the converstion and are annoying with your false facade. I have purchased the title and have a different opion of Mr. Pujols because of it (disappointed Brewer fan), however one views different kinds of witnessing tactics it is pretty clear on the integrity of his person (Pujols)... may you do likewise.
There's always next year [:D] all you Brewer fans!
Yes the Card's pulled it off and are the champs. But our Rangers put up a good fight. May all you Card's fans smile and praise God! As will all the Ranger fans!

EDIT: ... I fear it is unlikely that you will stand strong, In light of what you wrote on another thread.
In this case, I agree with George in both his posts. {I just had to say that since I previously said I disagreed with him in another thread}.
I ask your forgiveness for posting... but is there any possible way we can just let this thread die?
Even Logos has asked us to let it go. Please. Stop.
Just because I don't advocate overly aggresive practices doesn't mean that I oppose evangelism. Not only do I not view his actions as "overly aggressive", I don't even see this as aggressive. Fine Job, Jack. Way to stand up for the truth. You will undoubtedly be dubbed a troll, since you initiated this last round of talks early on Sabbath Morning ... When Logos is closed. Be strong, Jack. Defy the slings and arrows. Lets not be to harsh on Poor Old Jack. History has confirmed that it is very strenuous, and dangerous for a peasants to confront a tyrannical overlord. ... Even harder to stand by that conviction. Modern day martyrs are all but extinct.
Perhaps this will clarify the matter somewhat.

Am reminded of a story (I usually am) about D. L. Moody. Someone told Moody, "I don't like the way you witness and do evangelism." To which he replied, "Neither do I. How do you witness?" He admitted, "I don't." And Moody said, :"I like my way better."
I think it would be a good idea to be sure that we are witnessing in the most winsome way that we can before criticizing the witness of others.

Not to comment with approval or disapproval of Moody, but it was a good reply. It's like the recipe for Hasenfefer — First, catch the rabbit.

It says a lot about the culture in which we live when it is alright to speak openly about any relationship at all—except the most important one.
