How do I know?

Under Logos v3 you always knew what licenses you had. They were listed in the Tools>Library Management>Account Settings.

With v4 Logos there is no idea what license/licenses are loaded. No idea what version is loaded on the computer. No idea if the version loaded is the latest.

It appears that this is to be seamlessly taken care of by the Logos servers. But, I'm one of those that likes to know whether I have the latest version or not. Also, without checking every book I would like to know that what I paid for is loaded on my machine.

Silly me, I just like to know these things.

Not quite so silly Scott. As of now this feature is not in L4. However if you sync your licenses in L3, even your resources from L4 will show up in a bibliography report.

I for one am hoping that such a biblio will be possible soon in L4.

I agree - as one who as upgraded my licenses more times than I can count, I would like to know that I have everything I have paid for too.

If you are silly, then so am I! I hated losing most of the controls I was used to. But, I'm finding out that life is much easier-I have to trust others more- and I'm grateful for all the support in this forum and support of Logos staff to patiently try to answer every question. God Bless

Joan - Control has been my biggest issue with L4 - I was so used to tweeking and setting various settings and Keylinks and stuff like that. It is taking some getting used to.

Hi Michael,

It will take time and successful new experiences using L4, updating, indexing and re-indexing, getting on the forum, reading experiences of others. Particularly, hearing from Bob occasionally, hearing from Bradley G., and other Logos personnel--all of that built a trust factor in me, so that if I can't control "it", then I trust. I gained a systemic perspective, rather than a focus on one or two features perspective. The videos REALLY helped me this week. I went for weeks without even Help and it drove me crazy. [:D] I did an attitude adjustment and saw that things really are easier. What was hard, at first, to get used to was NOT knowing what was being downloaded or added to my system. I SCREAMED on that one and lost that battle. You are not alone; we are all trying to help one another. Or 99% of us are. [Y]

I think you mean "Account Summary" don't you Thomas?

I would like a bibliography too. But the account summary with serials and activations is more important to me.

If I keep running Version 3 on my old laptop (to use the features not yet available in L4) and I buy a download Pre-Pub in Version 4 will I get an activation code automatically so I can ftp the Version 3 file onto my laptop and use it there? Or will there even be a Version 3 file to download?

If I had the serials & activation codes my version 3 laptop may still be working 10 years from now. I do have Windows 3.1, DOS/V and OS/2 still running.
