DATESTAMP suggestion for NOTES

I often use my notes almost as a journal when I study Scripture. I would like to be able to date these notes, and then to arrange a note file by that date. For now, I just type in the date in the "title" area of the note, as shown here:
It would be really nice if I could easily SORT by title.
It would be even nicer if there was an auto-datestamp feature, with the ability to sort a notefile by date.

Long asked feature of notes from the early days of L3 [Y]

[Y] I designed that into my own Bible software and it's VERY useful. Over several years, many, many studies come together sequenced by date.
I also take a lot of notes from our Pastor, and when he 'returns' to a passage, it's interesting to see his previous comments.

Wonder about using a table in Word docx file, then build a Personal Book ?

It would be great to be able to view the datestamp on notes\highlights and to search them using date ranges.

That is great to hear; I had been wanting the ability to sort by reference.
If it is able to sort by date then it is obviously storing the note creation date. I wonder if it has been storing the date all along or only starting with a recent beta? If the latter, then sorting by date will only be done on notes created going forward.

I am still hoping however unlikely for a 2 level sort as in:
1st Sort: Note color
2nd Sort: Titleso all your reds would be together in alphabetical order..
Never Deprive Anyone of Hope.. It Might Be ALL They Have

L3 annotation files were in xml and they stored a creation datetime stamp. L4 are in a database and I expect that practice would have continued so I don't imagine this would be an issue - a good question though Keith.

While this doesn't show the date the note was added it does go someway towards addressing what is being discussed in this thread
Yes this is there, Graham, now we just need it to display the time stamp....this should be optional per note file as you would not want to necessarily have it showing for every note file.

That's good to know. It means the original poster's request (to display the creation date on the note) is possible. I too would like to see that.

Date created and date modified were stored with L4 annotations before this beta.
