OT. Please pray for our men!

Men are meeting again tomorrow, Thursday, 6 p m . About 10 a.m. US time.

I appreciated the support of your prayers last time, and realised from a couple of posts that, although we only meet about once a month, or less if I'm away, as I was last month, I need to be aiming to pray for them daily, i.e. several times a week.

Last time they asked about how Jesus called his disciples, and whether they were already Believers, so we are having a series on that topic. Starting tomorrow with John's disciples, who went after Jesus, and Andrew brought his brother to Jesus. I tried that story on one of them tonight, and he was most struck by Jesus being the Lamb of God and dying as the perfect sacrifice.

Like John's disciples, they come to learn about God, but I think they have yet to meet Jesus, with one possible exception.

Those of you who feel led to pray for us, please support us in prayer. We long to have men who become Believers and can begin to lead their own group.

Thank you, Mark and Praiser, for the support of your prayers! We had a very lively discussion, tho not exactly according to plan. They shared what was on their minds, tho we got rather bogged down by paedophile priests being protected by the church, and racist, politically expansionist nuns. And that their own religious leaders are not much better. I did point out that it was the religious leaders that got Jesus executed, and that God says: I hate and despise your feasts, and don't want lots of sacrifices, but let justice run down like water etc. Having said that the descendants of Ishmael were NOT called Muslims, I now need to go into Logos to find out what the ? 12 tribes were, and work out how to explain that these were powerful tribes, not slaves... I also explained that what people are saying around here, that Muhammad was born before Jesus, is just plain historically untrue... I guess I can stress next time that religion can't save, and we all desperately need a Saviour.

Nicky, You are probably already familiar with the classic "The Training of the Twelve; or, Passages Out of the Gospels, Exhibiting the Twelve Disciples of Jesus under Discipline for the Apostleship" by Alex Bruce.... it is an outstanding resource for discipleship AND includes specific information about the calling of each. Enjoy!

I have only this week redownloaded it on to Vyrso, after losing all me downloaded books with IOS5! It will be my morning capuccino reading in the near future.
