iPad 2 VS. iPad 1 for Logos
Did any of you upgrade from iPad 1 to iPad 2, and if so did it improve performance with the Logos app?
I have so far chosen to stick with iPad 1 because there is no difference in screen resolution; therefore, I saw no advantage in regard to reading. The camera means nothing to me. So I thought I would wait for iPad 3 this spring with (hopefully) a retina screen before upgrading my iPad 1..
But I wonder if overall Logos performance is improved with iPad 2. Would like some knowledgable first-hand info.

Andrew - I think that this may be the case because of difficulties securing higher quality displays in quantity & at cost. What I read is that the iPad 3 would most likely be available by the next christmas season.

I read somewhere that Bigfoot prefers Android.

But when it comes to Apple rumors, they have about the same track record.
I generally distrust any long-term rumors. The closer we get to an event and the more chatter is being generated, the more merit a rumor may have. But rumors pointing several months out (or a year out, in the iPad 3 case) are a bit less reliable.

I agree you need to take with a good dose of salt as the article I read suggested....if iPad 2S has some truth to it, we will see it in March, so less than 12 months, but no where near being a trumor....iPhone 5 was happening right up to the truth was announced.

I agree. I took a closer look at this particular rumor and it may be a bit more speculation. Sometimes the rumors are based upon supply chains and availability of components. I think that this rumor is partially based upon the ramping up of certain parts, but the unavailability of the high res display panels.

If this spring brings forth an iPad 2S without noticeably better screen resolution, I'll probably hold off a little longer and get by with my iPhone and laptop computer.

Just as I passed passed on iPad 2 without an upgrade in screen resolution, I would pass on the next edition without the screen improvement. Those are interesting rumors. I read recently Apple had ordered 1.5 mil high res screens for new iPad, but you know how these rumors go.
I also am passing on the new iPhone. My iPhone 4 does all I need it to do.

I agree, Michael, about the iPhone. The 4S is not a significant enough upgrade, IMO, to warrant the expense if one has the 4. That said, I finally took the smartphone plunge and bought the 4S. The resolution (same as the 4) is really incredible, particularly for reading Logos resources.Hopefully, the next iPad will have a comparable display resolution (it doesn't have to be as refined considering the larger size of the iPad and the greater distance from the eyes one holds it compared to the iPhone).
