Is there a way to get the book mark feature to mark the verse you actually want to instead of it arbitrarily choosing whatever verse number it wants to from the current page?

Sorry, I don't think so, not at least from the mobile app itself. I never noticed that until you pointed it out. Perhaps you should add "Bug:" to your subject line.

When you go to add to favorites (using the + button) there are arrows, you can go up or down the Bible reference.
