Logos for Android 0.9.2 Beta 2

We've released Beta 2 of 0.9.2 today. This will be a non-market release.

If you wish to participate in the beta, visit this link from your phone to download it: http://downloads.logos.com/Android/Logos/beta/Logos-23.apk.

There is no auto-updating, so check back soon to see if we have released an update! When 0.9.2 officially releases, it will be put into the market as usual.

Search: Basic Search for citations accessible by swiping up in a bible
Search: Basic Search for citations with angled brackets, e.g <Jn 3:16>

Known Issues

Search is online-only (for now)
Library cover images flicker while updating/scrolling
Clicking search results sometimes hangs the app for several seconds
In-progress presentations are not automatically re-followed if network connection drops
Calendar signal events do not properly populate all the calendar fields on some devices (particularly 3.0+)
Cannot view contact/calendar details data before adding them to your contacts/calendar
Cannot select signals with the trackball
Signals are not fully themed in low-light mode
Some Logos4Reference signals are not fully supported
Popups and menus do not display Greek and Hebrew correctly
Right-to-left text (especially Hebrew) does not display correctly
Poor network connection may show an error message
Network connections from behind a login page are not supported (e.g. a hotel or other hotspot that requires login)
The app will crash if there is no SD card

I don't have this beta, but what are you trying to do?

search book of zephaniah for "all"
search for all references to the book of Zephaniah

Generally <Zephaniah> is a reference and this requires a Basic Search as bible references do not occur in the manuscript of a bible.

From my reading, you can't do that i.e. long press "all" and you can search the bible or another resource.

I usually use the verse map (verse picker) - the icon to the right of the passage box. Is that working?

The verse picker usually works but not always... Every time I start to say it does or it doesn't, it changes its mind & I can't replicate the prior behavior. So yes it sometimes works. But sometimes, you end up somewhere else. My time to play with it is limited, & it's only for play that I can try using it... life just too full right now for extended testing... Blessings to you & thanks for all you do!

Trying to find any word in Revelation with current search is nearly impossible, if it's a commonly used word. Why? Search starts serving them up in Genesis... do you know how many page swipes (& internet hits) it takes to get to the book you really wanted to look at? So far, it's pretty frustrating...

The end result (in sight) looks like it'll be so promising that I've given up real use on the phone (I'm reduced to paper for awhile) until it is... So if I sound a little frustrated with Logos / android, I am. But it's in a good way. We're in sight of that promised land... just not quite there....

What are you using android Logos for, Dave? Are you depending on it in some way? So far, I'm without a workable android solution, so I've got nothing to risk. What are you risking?

Dave, even with bugs, I haven't yet been stopped from FINDING a reference---even if I wasn't able in a particular instance to key it in or use the versemap icons. A couple of times, I had to get close with the slider & swipe pages the rest of the way, but there was always a way to get to my verse. I wouldn't be afraid of it, unless you want to use it for "heavy lifting" (time limited research)...

My most frequent use is when leading Bible study in my small group, where I use it in the way I think I hear you describing. No problem, even if I don't get there the way I tried 1st.

I have been unable to reproduce that issue. It sounds like Bill has been unable to do so as well. If this bug reappears, It would be great to get your log files.

If you'd like to help us track this down further, navigate to the Android Market and download an app (it's free!) called CatLog. This allows us to pull some log files from the device.

Once CatLog is installed, run Logos and reproduce that error. Close Logos and then open CatLog, press the Menu button on your device and then select Send. Email that log as an attachment to yourself.

Please then attach that file to this thread.

I hope that Bill can confirm that or supply some logs as his last response indicated an issue with the verse picker!

If it recurs, I'll install CatLog as requested & attach the log files... sorry for sporadic posts... life is VERY busy right now & I'm having trouble getting to the forums... I downloaded this beta to my computer and side loaded it into my Kindle Fire via USB and ES explorer. So far seems to be working. My only complaint from my limited use is that many of the screens are using very small fonts with no way to enlarge.

Look for an aA setting (small / larger letter) under Settings... it's there on mine... or am I missing what you're saying?

I am able to adjust the font size for the text of the bibles and books , where I have a problem is when the computer constructs a page of references these are all in text about 6 point
