Export to iCal not working properly

I have Logos 4 for Mac, and have two reading plans. I export them to iCal, so they will be in my calendar. It works for most entries, but there are some (usually one particular day of every week), where instead of the calendar entry listing the readings for that day, it has the name of the calendar (e.g. The calendar entry for Wednesdays should list readings like "Deuteronomy 6-8; Mark 15:1-32," but all they list is "Read the Message," which is the name of the iCal calendar I exported it to. The rest of the days of the week are fine.).

What am I doing wrong? Help!

Wondering about Logos 4 Mac version and OS X version ?

Bit curious about reading plan ?

Apologies: unable to replicate using Logos 4.3 SR-6 on Mac OS X 10.6.8, able to create a new iCal calendar "Read the Bible", switch to Logos 4 Mac, open a reading plan, then export to iCal. Learned iCal alarm works. First export done with 31 sessions (6 passages per day); deleted iCal calendar, created iCal calendar, then exported reading plan with many sessions (chronological Old Testament: one passage per day). Both exports to iCal appeared fine.

Reading Plan: Read "The Message" in a year, with Old Testament Reading and New Testament Readings each day

I believe I experienced the same problem today with both my machine and my associate's. This problem was replicated today on our two separate but identical systems. (Identical hardware, identical software, identical problem)

I created a reading plan in Logos, clicked on the "Export to iCal" drop-down. Added it to a fresh new blank calendar in iCal with a 6:00 am time. However, in iCal, the first day of that new reading plan had an all-day event created with the title of the reading plan, not the page numbers. None of the other days had such an event. On that same first day, it also had the reading plan event at the proper 6:00 a.m. time. (two different events on the same day). The rest of the days had their correct single event at the proper time.

This problem occurred again in a second reading plan I exported in the same way, except that uniquely named all-day event was added at a seemingly random date much later in the calendar.

Inspecting the all-day event indicated that it was a weekly re-occurring event. However, despite that fact, it did not re-occur on any other future days. But, deleting that event caused not only it to disappear, but also the same-day 6:00 a.m. event with it, as well as all the other 6:00 a.m. events occurring on that particular weekday for every future week of the reading plan.

I then inspected the rest of the events on the other days. They looked normal. None were repeating events. However, when I right-clicked to 'cut' one of them, it said it was a re-occuring event, and only this instance of it would be deleted. (this of course was contrary to the report of the Inspector). All the rest of the entries in the entire reading plan did the same.

Just to see if I was imagining things, I created an Automator workflow to find all of the events in that specific iCal reading plan calendar. The workflow crashed. Strange, I thought. So I modified it to filter all events to show any that were repeating. This workflow succeeded in producing seven repeating events: one for each weekday of the first week of the reading plan. None of the rest of the events in the reading plan were returned.

To investigate further, I went back to Logos, and exported the same iCal reading plan, but this time, instead of using the "Export to iCal" drop-down, I used the "Print/Export" function (Command - P). In the print dialogue, I exported the iCal file. Opening that in iCal resulted in events that were all-day events. With only page numbers in the title, no book name and no details in the 'note' section of the event. Clearly, the method of exporting to iCal is different using the Print/Export method then it is using the "Export to iCal" method. But knowing that doesn't help me with anything though.

So it's the end of the day, I have strange behaving reading plans that I can't explain, and you are likely no closer to your solution than when I started typing.

For what it's worth, the reason I got into this is that I accidentally had alarms set on all my reading plans at 5:45 a.m. Too early! So I used iCal Cleaner to remove the alarms from my reading plans...but it said it only found 7 events to remove the alarms from, even though there were several months worth of events. Turns out that those seven events are the same ones that the Automator found marked as reoccurring, (although the event itself in iCal does not say "reoccurring".)
