Improved
- Book downloads can be resumed
- Book downloads are restarted if the app is quit
- Books are downloaded again if the are missing, e.g. after a restore from backup
Fixed
- Downloaded books are not removed when the device is low on space on iOS 5.0.1+
- Presentations alert didn’t display correctly if the device was in landscape orientation
- Stability fix for certain network failures
Known Issues
- Sharing via Twitter crashes on iOS 5 (this bug exists in all previous versions)
This will be the last version to support iOS 3.x.

With this update can one upgrade their iPad from iOS 4.3.3 to 5.0.1 via iTunes without losing downloaded books?

You may want confirmation from Logos on this but I believe that, even with this upgrade, you will lose downloaded books when upgrading iOS from 4..x to 5.x.
This Logos upgrade takes advantage of new features in iOS 5 which means it doesn't help in an upgrade from 4 to 5.

There's no way to keep books through an upgrade from iOS4.x to iOS 5, but with Logos 1.8.3, books you had downloaded previously will be automatically redownloaded.

WARNING to other users! DO NOT download this if you need the iOS app working on your iDevice. This release has caused multiple problems, including:
- It shows 35 resources to be upgraded. But when i asked it to download them all, it went very slowly, and crashed several times.
- more importantly, the book I was reading in the Read mode, it doesn't display anymore... It just spins, and after a minute it crashes.
Now I have a disabled app! Was this release thoroughly tested before release?

Good job. The innovations are really good. I have no problem with the installation of that version. It said it have to re-download some books and it did. All looks working and fine.

Sorry to hear that Peter. It is weird because in my case it is just the opposite. My App is finally working well, only after I installed this upgrade today. Now I can download my resources with no problem. Let's see what other users experience, but here I am finally working decently.

I have just applied the update on both iPhone and iPad and it is working fine on both. Took a while to start first time, but no resource upgrading was necessary and my download resources (50 or so) are all still present and correct.

Have you tried restarting your iDevice. Try turning off you idevice (by holding down the power switch and then sliding the slider to off) and then turn it on and allow it to reboot. I often find this fixes most apps that constantly crash.

On an unrelated note, has the problem with Favorites been addressed yet in this release? I still cannot bookmark where I am reading. I started a thread a few days ago on this issue, and others chimed in reporting the same problem, but no one from Logos offered any support or acknowledgement.

after I downloaded latest ios5 and logos 1.8.3 and vyrso update, I had logos and vyrso spinning aimlessly for ages, which got me worried. I did things like killing appsand holding down the switch for a long time and eventually logos and vyrso started working again.

An irritation, though not disastrous. I wasn't able to finish downloading. Now every time I open logos app on iPad, I get messages that 21 books (Thank God it wasn't 2100!) have failed to download, and have to press OK 21 times before being able to continue using the app. Might be nice to give us an option of OK All or something. But now I know that will happen, so am prepared!

Apps for iOS devices are ONLY available from the App Store. Unless you previously had this downloaded, it is unlikely you would have access to it.

If some one from Logos can provide to me the .ipa file I can manually place it into the iTunes "Mobile Applications" folder and have iTunes install it onto my device.

Even if that were possible, I am curious how much of the app would actually work. Logos moved to a new sync infrastructure. If no one is able to help out, you might try using biblia.com to access your books.
