Not responding vamoosed

Yippidaddyomoma!!! What happened to the "not responding" I was getting when opening up a passage from the Go bar? Can it be, that contrary to advice given earlier, that turning my system back to Aero in Windows 7 (which by the way did not slow down this system) that this procedure could have stopped that little critter - or - did Logos do a fix on that? Anyone got the answer for this?

Haven't seen your posting yet, but it very apparent to me, you've been devamoosified. It happens usually when one ignores advice. (Also when Devas go to Alaska for vacation; sometimes Canada.)

I was wondering whether I too could enjoy the devamoosification effect, turning on Aero. And promptly crashing Logos4!

But re-starting L4 now does indeed seem to run faster. My key test is the Richmond paper which usually takes awhile to build its daily menu and then find an item. Thanks! .

The Aero thing really has never given me a problem - it struck me today though, that I hadn't really saw the *not responding* signal for a bit now and I think it's been since I switched to Aero. But then again - it could be because Logos fixed it.

A new Lenovo X220t - excuse me while I get a damp cloth and wipe the *green* off my face!!?! :-}

We're financing the X220T by dumping our fancy phones, getting a hotspot for our PCs!

But this idea does seem to work for whatever reason. I tried to see if L3 would be jealous and reduce his workspace load times but he's not buying. Maybe has to do with L4.

Hmmm ... Logos4 seems to have gotten angry. Now he won't display the base window; only the floating windows. I suppose that could be a real plus, except when I need to turn on the internet, etc. No can do! Will keep playing around here.

[Later] Figured out the problem; W7 periodically has windows minimized into oblivion. By right-clicking to maximize and then alt-tabbing, Aero re-discovered L4's main window. Works great.

Sounds like you're a "figure-it-outer" Denise. Anyway, the new unit should take away a lot of the grief(s). I've appreciated this Logos software - rumbled into it last March or so.

Know you've gone to sleep. But this Aero and Logos4 is quite interesting.

Since the paging goes faster, I now can get one tab a full chapter ahead of the tab next to it (linked). And the second tab never catch up, even when the CPUs dropping to zero.

I'm trying to understand exactly how L4's been programmed.

I do know that there's a pixel between verses where if you set the tab on that pixel, the other tabs don't know where they're supposed to be.

By fast paging and ending up on the pixel, I can now set new records for L4 tabs being out of line.

I'm hoping to get in the Logosian Book of Records (along with studying the Bible a lot faster!).

The saga continues. I wouldn't bother, but it gives clues concerning L4.

I eventually got less enthused with all the windows flying around in Aero (alt-tab). So I decided to go back to drudge-ville and turn them off (recognizing my precious L4 would return to sleepy times at Ridgemont High).

Again, L4 crashed. But even more interesting was that on return to Drudgeville, L4 was still in-business with all of its floating windows. There just wasn't anything IN the floating windows.

All my other apps that were running didn't have a problem including rock-solid Libronix (the best programmed Bible software EVER).

This means (which Logos.inc already knows) that the WMF (sp?) layer is tightly bound to the W7 aero display routines. So, I'd assume without aero etc, there must be another back-translation into non-aero world. Thus L4 being somewhat slower in Drudgeville. Aero is clearly using large display buffers.

Denise - on this end, Aero is giving me no problem whatsoever - or at least up to this point it is not. But I'm surprised no one else has rumbled into this thread - as to where the "no responding" message went to? Is anyone else getting that still, or is it that Logos has indeed done a fix???

But, in a nutshell, it's the 'airy' look of Window7 (and the previous version). It uses a lot of high-speed image switching and layering, and thus I presume it is somehow connected to how Logos4 does business.

In Windows7, the easy way to turn on/off is to right click on the desktop > Personalize > and then select a theme grouped under 'Aero' (or not; scroll down).

If I remember right, the inexpensive versions of W7 don't include it. Not sure.

Thnbaks, Denise. Have done it. My version of W7 is home, or something like that, but it does offer aero. Now to see if Logos works more happily
