Request: Keep basic searches?

Hi,

I have a request. If there is a way to keep basic searches like you keep syntax searches, I don't know about it...but if there isn't...I'd like to suggest the option to save it.

I did a search that was a little complicated: The words of Christ that are also a verb, active, imperative.

here is the syntax

(([field words-of-christ] *) = <lbs-morph+el ~ V??M????>)

I don't want to re-type that next time I ask for a similar search but I don't know how to save it so I can use it again....

What do you think?

Bob I agree with having some way to save searches, especially when they get complex and all you want to do is just press the button. I'd like to see this happen somehow. In the mean time I suggest opening a note file and saving these searches in it. At least then you only need to copy and paste the command.

PS I just tried your search on "All Bibles" and this is what I got! Think I need to reduce that to Top Bibles next time [:D]

In Logos 3 I used to just bookmark the search results window. It would save the search, ready to run. Then I could just recall the search from my favourites list, and run the search.

I just had a play, and sure enough Logos 4 provides you with exactly the same function. Keep the favorites tab open as you run a search, then click 'Add' in the favorites tab. Your search will be added to your favorites.

To re-run the search, simply open the favorites tab again, and hit the name of the search. It will immediately open and run the search. Favorites can still be organized with folders, as previously.

How did I manage to miss the Favourites tab entirely? I don't think I've ever seen it, all through the beta testing and release.

Its been there. The great thing is you can right click on a folder and open all the favorites in it at once. I Save all my sermon guides, searches and resources in one folder.

It was intended to find

Words of Christ that are imperative verbs...

And it doesn't...it finds all imperative verbs...

To tell you the truth, I wouldn't know where to begin. I would love the ability to easily limit searches to the words of Christ. I would love to be able to select it as a search range.

to get you started...here is my layout of my study of "the righteousness of God" it's pretty slick...Highlighting, the search for the phrase in context in it's own pane...and an exegetical guide, and bible on the right...

Unfortunately, we don't apply all the field tagging from the Bible text to the reverse interlinear data that is indexed, but only the "bible" field. I don't know how difficult that would be to implement, but it's certainly an excellent idea for a future improvement to reverse interlinear searching. (And without that information, I can't think of an easy way to construct the search you want.)

I don't doubt it - I have an amazing gift not to see what's right in front of me. Useful to know though.
