Has anyone developed any positive iPad Search methods?
Has anyone developed any positive iPad Search methods? I mean document specifically for mobile library searching.
It wasn't wonderful before but now with the Perseus collections, searching for info in the library is just.... well, it's not good.
Is there a mobile (tips and trick) search syntax that can be used to eliminate/filter unwanted results like on the desktop?
An iPad search wiki?
EDIT
OK, for a start I found this: I'm hoping someone could create a list specific to iPad...
These are great for filtering thru the library but I'm lookin for "search" syntax filtering in "basic/Bible" not library.

One of the problems hindering the usefulness of searching on the iPad is that resources are not "indexed." One of the selling points of Logos 4 is its search capabilities. Until tablets catch up in this regard, the mobile apps will play "second fiddle." For this reason, I do not do much serious searching on the iPad.

If it is done server side then it ought to be even better than the desktop app. That's the whole point of cloud. adding capabilities like this on the client side goes against the whole ethos of cloud computing.

It would be convenient if the abilities and limitations of searching on the iPad were documented. Without a whole lot of experience in this I would say Bible searches are more useful than basic searches, but with practice they may improve. You can limit a Bible search by searching within a collection or a specific resource or recent resources. In the window to the left of the search window that says something like top Bibles, tap on it and scroll down and you see you can search within recent resources then your collections. Just after the list of the collections it will give you current Bible. In the Bible search screen tap on search window and you can enter syntax similar to the desk top. For example love NEAR world yields John 3:16 as the first hit. Tongues OR world gives references with either word. Tongues AND nations only gives references with both words. Tongues WITHIN 2 words nations or tongues NEAR nations give the expected results. In a basic search done from a Bible for a specific word can then be limited to a collection of your favorite Bible dictionaries. The app will list the headword results first, then where the word occurs in the text of various dictionaries. There may be exceptions to my comments. As Alabama pointed out iPad searching is limited.

No, at least not yet. When I search my Logos 4 on my Mac, it knows what resources I own and has indexed this for me. What good would it be if I did a "cloud" search on Logos servers and received hits back for resources I don't own!

An iPad search wiki?
When offline, noticed iPad running 5.0.1 with Logos 1.8.3 app has Basic Search and Bible Search options. Searching for "rejoice NEAR Lord" took minutes on a first generation iPad (found nothing) In contrast, single word Bible searches are quicker and finds results. Suggest searching for low frequency words vis common (the) or high frequency words (God). Noticed search results show Chapter # and Bible; wish Book and verse would be added.

My best advice is to create a ton of collections on your PC and then use those for focused searching.

The collections method suggested here by several has been my default practice.... but I still get a lot of "junk" results. I could blame that on my collections, they may need reworked.
Thanks everyone for your response.
