hyperlinking Verses in Note Files

Most of my note files in L4 have been cut and pasted. When they are placed in L4 the Bible verses within them do not automatically hyperlink. My question is: Is there a way to hyperlink Bible verses in a Note file en bloc without having to do them one by one as this can be very time consuming? Thanks for help. Gerald

I don't have this problem on my copy & pastes - with a few exceptions. I'd try added a space or a return at the end of the paste. That ought to trigger linking. If it doesn't give me an example of what you're pasting and I'll see what may be causing the problem

Thanks for email and the help you offered. I am using the London Baptist Confession of Faith 1689 as a note file. I simply cut & pasted a chapter at a time. Here is the very last chapter:

the wiki page that Praiser linked above explains that there needs to be a space behind every scripture reference (so the semicolons won't work). I'd assume that the underscore characters that replace spaces in your text also disturb the software.

Try to change 'Luk_12:35-40;' to 'Luk 12:35-40' etc.

Gerald, NewbieMick correctly identified the problem. Copying first to NotePad removes the underline but not the underscore. However, despite what the wiki pages says, you can leave the semicolons and the period and have it convert - I just tried it.

So what I would do is

copy the text into Word or similar software
select all text
remove underlining
replace underscore with space
copy into note and you should auto link.

If you need more detail on how to do these steps let me know.

I noticed it working with periods recently and wasn't sure whether it was on 4.3 or in the current beta?

It was a while back but I don't remember when. It may be in the release notes. I see the failure to link listed as a bug development was looking into in January 2010.
