Outlines, Paul's Ministry, Jesus Ministry etc...

In the course of my research and preparation I am often times in need of an outline. What I am looking for is an easier better way to search through my collections to find such a document. For example, I was looking for something on the chronology of Jesus ministry once and could not find an outline. Today my task is to find an outline for Paul's life. Starting with his conversion and working my way forward. I believe that this type of material should be in my collection but the biblical people function has not been helpful and while trying to search generally for Jesus ministry outline or Paul ministry outline too much information comes up. I have the Platinum additional of Logos 4. Thanks to anyone who can help me with this.

Hi Joshua - and welcome to the forums.

Looking at the chronology of Paul question I did a Basic Search in my whole library looking for "chronology NEAR paul".

I found some useful information in the IVP "Dictionary of Paul and His Letters" but this isn't included in Platinum so you may not have it.

I also found a chronology chart in "The Life and Work of St Paul" (which I think is in Platinum) which seems to give you what you are looking for. It starts in Volume 2, page 623 and shows a number of different views on the chronology.

EDIT: "The Life and Epistles of St Paul" has a similar table while "The Life of Our Lord upon the Earth: Considered in its Historical, Chronological and Geographical Relations" has a chart showing the chronology of the life of Jesus. I am sure that there are arguments about some of the dates but hopefully it will provide a starting point

You know what else is helpful? I created a collection of books that are the type of media. I can then search them and pull up all of my charts, maps, graphics, etc. It may not be an "outline" but there are lots of good maps and charts showing the chronological stops of Jesus ministry, of Pauls missionary journies, etc.

Looking at the chronology of Paul question I did a Basic Search in my whole library looking for "chronology NEAR paul".

Likewise started with a Basic Search of All Text in Entire Library (with 1,403 results in 177 resources), then changed search fields to Heading Text; Large Text:

Personally learned searching for Paul NEAR chronological includes Paul topic section while Paul NEAR chronology does not.

By the way, "The Moody Handbook of Theology" was included in Bible Study Library in ND package of old.

I don't get a Topic section unless I search on Paul in All Text (Windows PC, 4.3 SR-7)

Joshua, once you get your answer be sure to use Favorites to mark the location so you can quickly return to it. If you have to cobble together something, use a notefile and it will always be available.
