Display timeout not working while reading
I have discovered (by the result of a dead battery) that while reading in a resource, specifically a bible, that the system display timeout is ignored and the screen never turns off. If the app is at the home screen, the timeout works.

It is not specifically bibles on my Android 2.3, so the aim must be to allow long study time(?). I haven't thought of it as a problem because I haven't walked away from the phone.

Hi
This was introduced in Beta 8 in response to user request - as per http://community.logos.com/forums/t/34813.aspx

Well, that it explains it. In that case, could it be an option then? I read at night in bed and sometimes fall asleep without turning the phone off. Then I end up with a dead battery in the morning.
In general, if an app modifies a system setting, I would think good practice would be to make it an option.

I have a Samsung Galaxy 10.1 running Android 4.1.2 running Android Logos version 2.6.6 (Build 132). I have exactly the same problem when reading the Bible or having an open book in Logos, it disables the Display screen timeout setting.
I would prefer if they provided an option to enable or disable the screen timeout function from within Logos as well.My tablet has also run flat due to me thinking that the screen display would timeout as well after no use.

Logos did change the app so that when in Reading view the app will not allow the screen to dim or shut down.
