Is Logos is offering the Classic Commentaries Colossians and Philemon twice?

It looks like Logos is offering the Classic Commentaries Colossians and Philemon twice.

Sure looks that way, doesn't it. The contents of each set is identical but one is reputed to have 25 volumes while the correct ad says 14 volumes.
I wonder how many people bid on both? [:P]

One set is 11 volumes smaller....Are there overlaps in the particular books?

The items are identical except that one has additional volumes.

Yes indeed! I cancelled my bid on the Colossians and Philemon classic commentaries.

How many bid on both? Guilty! Lol... But now I can rationalize it that even if only one collection makes it over the top, I'm in.
More seriously, this is an issue Logos.needs.to fix. Yes?Grace & Peace,

When this thread started both sets were missing the Thessalonians volumes. I would hope Logos will delete the smaller set. soon.

The first set was artificially (and mistakenly) grouped to get the volume count to a certain size. Colossians and Philemon belong together, but Thessalonians doesn't. I suggested that we split them in two: Colossians and Philemon as one collection (which is up) and Thessalonians as another (which will be up soon). The first collection hasn't been retired yet, but probably should. At the very least, we'll put clear instructions on all three pages indicating that the largest collection is the sum of the smaller two.

I take it you're not pleased. I'm open to your suggestions. (You can keep your boos and your boots to yourself! [:)])

Thanks so much for listening! If you leave one or more collections in CP with overlapping resources, at least one of us will buy it & be unhappy... We can all see it coming. Any clear, groupings with non-overlapping resources would be fine with me.
Thanks again for listening!

If you separate them, what will most likely happen will it will mean more money out of pockets.[:(]

Not necessarily. It could mean less. You should be able to get more people to jump on board a smaller collection since it's more targeted (e.g., not everyone who wants Colossians commentaries also wants Thessalonians commentaries) and will have a lower price tag. Of course, people who want both can still bid on both.

Phil, I was going to write to you with the suggestion of keeping the Colossians and Thessalonians collection together and deleting the smaller Colossians 14 volume. That way we get three books of the New Testament quicker but it seems that others may prefer a different option.
Please don't retire the Colossian/Thessalonian option[:)]

I'm with Ted here. Now having the option to buy Colossians/Philemon and Thessalonians separately or Colossians/Philemon/Thessalonians together would negatively test the motivating principle behind Community Pricing... consensus.
As of right now the peaks of the two separated collections totals to a higher price than the combined collection. I'll second the suggestion to nix the separate Colossians/Philemon and Thessalonians collections and stick to the original combined Colossians/Philemon/Thessalonians.

As long as all three are up on the CP page I suggest keeping them there. I plan on getting all the Classic Commentaries in the series so it makes more sense for me to bid on the collection that includes all three. However, if someone is only interested in Thessalonians then they can just purchase that one individually.

No boots, no "boos." Just an "ataboy!"
As Bill asked, How many of us placed bids on both? [:$]
Now I do have a suggestion about that Revelation collection: If the top end of the graph were lowered down to , say $80, I bet we would gain a lot of momentum. It would be an absolute shame for everyone to get all the Classic Commentaries and Studies Collections on the whole Bible and miss out on the Revelation set, just because $160 was WAY OUT OF LINE. Oh, thanks Phil. I appreciate all you do for us.

Yes, until something reaches closure.

Wonder about offering two subsets of Revelation classic commentaries for bidding ? (e.g. published before or after 1870 so the subsets have 12 and 15 volumes)
Keep Smiling [:)]

That would mess up the CP pricing system.

Agreed... so I've deleted my bids on the 2 & 1 collections & am in only on the 3. This kind of confusion is disappointing....
You mean I actually have to READ what's IN the collections I bid on now???? [:P] [;)]Grace & Peace,

Or one could just bid on them all and just cancel other orders depending on which ones come out of CP first.

Hi Kenneth,
You're right, of course, & that's just what I'd thought to do... But things are so chaotic (wife's lung cancer, chemo, radiation, dr visits, ......) that I can't afford to give Logos that much time in monitoring their stuff, especially with still almost $1500 in open CP bids (I'm more than a little shocked it's so much!). For me, having to keep track of which of those orders are duplicates is unreasonable.
I want some assurance that Logos won't allow me to make a duplicate purchase, should I not be paying close enough attention. They're already doing so on Vyrso. Try to buy something you already own? It won't go into your shopping cart & tells you one or more products you already own have been removed from your shopping cart. I'd like a similar assurance with CP. Then I'd feel more (but not entirely) comfortable in just "letting it happen."
Many blessings to you...
Grace & Peace,
Bill

Thanks Logos for providing that assurance by providing non-overlapping collections for us to bid on.
(For those who missed other posts, the larger collection has been deleted. We need to bid on the smaller 2, now, if we want them.Grace & Peace,
