I have the platinum base package but when I click on the "upgrades" tab on Logos' homepage it offers Platinum as a free upgrade. Why?
It's a free upgrade. See this thread.http://community.logos.com/forums/p/42096/313427.aspx#313427
Dear Ron,
I cannot be certain without further information, but, in January 2011, Logos offered a free upgrade from Platinum LE to KF. If I recall correctly, the changes were not hugely significant (I think, for example, KF includes the NIV 2011 instead of the NIV 1984.
If you did not upgrade in January 2011, this may be what you are seeing.
If this is the case, I can confirm that, in upgrading, you will not lose any resources.

Ha! You beat me to it.

The nice thing is you didn't loose the NIV84 OT TNIV if you had them, they added the NIV (2011) for free.
I agree, it was really good of Logos to do this.
Hmmm. . . not sure about the LE to KF upgrade. According to my software I have 4.3 SR8. It seems like almost everyday there is a Logos update available. Also, I already have the NIV2011 in my library. Any reason why I would still need to download KF (assuming I don't already have it)?
This is an upgrade to your package rather than an update to the software.
The software updates automatically (4.3 SR8 is the latest release version), the package upgrades must be 'purchased' via the usual process. In this case, of course, the price is $0.
If you want to ensure that you have not already ordered this, you could check your order history (under Account on the website). There will be no detriment to the operation of L4 by not ordering the upgrade. However, should you order, you will get some (not many) resources for nothing.
Thanks. I think I understand now.
