I am considering this prepub and was wondering what thoughts other Logos users have about it.

Thanks.
I can't speak to these sources, but a few quick observations from a man who knows nothing else: they are from the 1800s, and the set is not cheap. Being old doesn't mean bad, it can mean good. Baptism is an old theme [;)]. I might recommend this more current collection, which includes the work by Beasley-Murray, considered by many the standard work on baptism, covering both historical practice and Biblical exegesis. There is also this work by Cottrell who is considered a very thorough theologian. The collection and these to single books represent the spectrum of views, from paedo baptism to immersion of repentant believers. Logos does not have it yet, but there is a 4 views of Baptism book out there comparing various traditions.
EDIT: added link to Cottrell

whoops, I knew better. they do have it in a larger collection.
I already purchased the Baptism Collection when it was on prepub, but I don't have the resource by Cottrell and it's not too expensive so I may get it.
you have a good basic set, then, and Cottrell will add to it, if you get it. What are your impressions of the collection you reference in your OP?
I like in depth studies and also appreciate the Biblical insight from previous generations so this resource does appeal to me, but I really don't have any insight into how good the Inquiry into the Usage of Baptizo may or may not be.
It's a lot of money to put down on a resource that might be good so I'm still on the fence - but I've got until Monday to make a decision.

kinda with you on that.

haven't done this, but wondered if they would be represented in Google books, so you could take a peek?
I had it in pre-pub but had to let it gofor financial reasons. Too many books shipped in January (and let's not discuss Christmas books). I was able to find pdf versions of them, just opened a couple to check and it was Google. pdf is not near as good as logos, but much better than nothing.

been there. that's pretty rough. sounds like you were very resourceful, however! Have you been able to form any impressions of them yet?

2,760 PAGES!!! ...on baptizo?? Reeeaally? Is there any scenario that would justify such excess? That equates to nearly 35 pages PER USAGE!!!
. . .Have you been able to form any impressions of them yet?
I downloaded them then they were out of site out of mind. I just pulled up Classic Baptism and read the first couple dozen pages and not too impressed. Thus far it's not the type of information I'm looking for. I disagree with Cottrell's baptismal regeneration but his book may be good to read a section then research in the library the Scripture he uses. Also these types of books are among my favorites: http://www.logos.com/product/16633/understanding-four-views-on-baptism I just did a Baptism collection and have 30 books already (2 are Spirit Baptism) using the rule below. The Cottrell and Four Views I don't have yet so I'll settle for them (as soon and the Christmas credit is active)
title:baptism OR subject:baptism OR mytag:baptism OR title:baptize OR subject:baptize
I'm impressed you took the time to figure that one out! [;)]
Thanks for the idea of google books. I have the weekend to see if look at them and see if it a wise purchase for me.

. . . and? [:)]
After spending some time looking at the different volumes, the one I am most interested in is the Nature of Christic and Patristic Baptism. I will most likely cancel my prepub order and save my funds for other resources.
