Am I missing something?

I just bought a Kindle Fire. I am interested in using it as a replacement for a common Bible in my ministry. I am, however, having trouble finding a Bible app that I am happy with. I love the features on the Logos app, but the miniscule number of downloadable Bibles makes it nigh worthless. I want to be able to access a few basic Bibles including a Greek New Testament from anywhere (i.e. offline). I have, unfortunately, found that it seems that this software has almost zero support for offline Bibles on the android platform. Why is it that Bibles that are 100+ years old and in the public domain are not downloadable? I understand issues with newer translations, but what is the problem with these? They are public domain meaning there shouldn't be any copyright or other legal issues to worry about. They are already formatted for the platform, because I can view them via online versions? Am I missing something?

I have, unfortunately, found that it seems that this software has almost zero support for offline Bibles on the android platform.

Bibles which are accessible from the Android app can be downloaded and subsequently accesses offline. When in offline mode some of the app features (such as search) are not currently available but reading the resources works fine

Which specific Bibles are you interested in?

They are already formatted for the platform, because I can view them via online versions?

By this, do you mean that you can access them on Biblia.com?

If so, are you accessing the free resources which Biblia makes available when you register or have you previously purchased a Logos 4 base package to use in a desktop / laptop environment?

In the library, you can access several Bible. When you click the little right arrow, a very few of them offer a green download button (the KJV for instance). Most of them, however, offer nothing of the sort. What I am most interested in right now is downloading a good solid Greek New Testament, but I can't find any of them that have the little green download button after I clicked the arrow for more details. Is there, perhaps, a different way to download these versions? Maybe sideload them

I am most interested in either the 1881 Westcitt-Hort GNT or the Novum Testamentum Graece. Both claim to be in the public domain and are easily accessible online. I am interested in downloading them for access offline.

All of the Bibles which I can see from my Android app are downloadable - so again please clarify whether you have purchased a Logos 4 base package or if you have just registered at Biblia.com

The only way to download them is through the Library in the app

Logos has Greek texts available - see http://www.logos.com/product/1806/westcott-and-hort-greek-new-testament-1881-with-morphology (including morphological tagging) for an example but I am not sure about any free ones. Someone else may be able to clarify this.

do you mean that you can see them somewhere on the Internet freely available or that you can see them online on a Logos site?

I ask because to read resources in the Android app (which you have on your fire) the resources need to be formatted for the Logos application. You can't just download a book from somewhere on the Internet and view it within the Logos app. Sorry if you were already aware of all this.

Ok, that makes sense.

The free registration gives you access to 31 (I think) free resources.

Anything beyond that and you need to either buy a base package or buy individual items.

Having said that - I have just noticed that while I can see, access and download Scrivener's Textus Receptus on my Android (due to the base package I have purchased) I can only see and access the 1881 Westcott-Hott GNT. I don't have a download option for this resource.

I don't know why this is the case, hopefully someone else will be able to comment.

There are two 1881 W&H GNT in Logos. Strangely, only the version "with morphology" can be downloaded to your device. My Novum Testamentum Graece can be downloaded as well, but I note there is another one that cannot be downloaded (maybe one of the free ones that comes with Biblia).
