In Logos 3 it was possible to specify a different path for the location of user files (for example: Annotations). This made it easier to keep a local backup copy. Is it possible to do this in Logos 4? (Hope, hope, hope...)
Is it possible to do this in Logos 4?
No it is not. All notes are placed into one large database file found here (in Win 7): C:\Users\{User Name}\AppData\Local\Logos4\Documents\{Randon String}\Documents\Notes We cannot alter that location.
Backing up data is a big concern but so far Logos has not given us much encouragement or instruction into how to backup locally.
Thanks, Mark.
<sigh> At least I know where to look, so I can run an extra backup.
With regard to keeping a local backup of L4 settings, resources, etc. These other forum conversations are helpful: HERE, more HERE (Wiki), even more HERE, and HERE.
You can back up your L4 program and all of the user generated content.
In Win 7 or Vista navigate to C:\Users\{User Name}\AppData\Local\Logos4
Simply copy the entire L4 directory to your backup drive. Depending on the size of you library, this could be a large amount of data. Mine is just under 18Gb
If you need to restore the back-up follow the instructions for either method 1 or 2 on this wiki page http://wiki.logos.com/Quick_Installation_onto_multiple_computers
I have used method 2 many times when I update my netbook from one version to another. I recently tried method 1 and it works great if you do not have an internet connection available.
Needless to say (so why am I saying it then[*-)]) your back-up copy will only reflect the what was current at the time you copied it.
