Lookup?
When you select a word in Logos for iOS, one of the options is "Lookup". What is it supposed to look up? I would guess it would look up the word in some English dictionary, but for me it always finds nothing and suggests me to run a Search or a Bible Word Study guide instead... I have yet to find a word that it looks up successfully.
Any ideas, anyone?
Thanks,
Peter

As far as I can tell it doesn't have that function. Of course you can copy the word, then open a dictionary and paste it to get a definition. To do that tap the "enter reference" box of your dictionary twice, then tap paste, then tap go.

With the Logos for iOS app 2.0, I am still not able to get the Lookup feature to show any information. Am I missing a resource or some setting to make it work?
- Tried online or offline
- Tried in Bible or non-Bible resource
- It never finds any information - see screen shot below

Do you have a base package? If so, try it with the ESV. The NIV does not have a reverse interlinear. I checked with both: the NIV gave me the same result as your search did. The ESV gave me the following:

Peter,
The original language capability only works on reverse interlinears. If you want a dictionary lookup, just hit Bible Word Study and it will come up with a definition if it's in the dictionary.

That works. Thanks Alabama.
Wonder why they would put this feature so promenently on the long-tap menu, when the feature only works on a specific Bible (ESV) when you're online.
Logos - any explanation?

It will also work on the NRSV, NLT, and NASB. There are several. The look up feature is designed to let you look up original languages and search for a word.

It works on ANY bible with a reverse interlinear (i.e. NASB). It also seems to work on resources tagged with strongs numbers (KJV).

I'm with Peter on this one please: a simple way to tap a word and get a popup from the top Dictionary. Or one built in if thats how it needs to work.
Please.

I think I used to be able to tap a word and get the definition based on my prioritized dictionary. That isn't happening now. Will this be coming back?

And it is great if the iOS 5 dictionary can be supported.

I'm so used to this dictionary definition now because iOS Safari has it, and the Kindle app also has it.
Thanks,
Peter
