Why haven't we heard much from Dave or Bob on the constant crashing?
Why have we heard so little from Logos? I am not a computer novice. I have deleted and reinstalled the Logos iOS app multiple times. I have examined the logs myself. I see the low memory warning. I have manually submitted logs. I have tried not downloading the ESV. I have downloaded an app for force free memory but Logos and Vyrso load... download for a while then crash. After that they crash as soon as I start them.
Logos, can we have an update of what is going on? I am not the only one who is dead in the water on this one.
Dave or Bob, can you give us a response from your level?
Thanks in advance for your help. I know you are working hard on this issue as I type.

I have been a Logos user since 1994 or 95, and a Beta tester most of that time. You can bet Logos is working on the crashing now, and will have a fix or notice for us in the near future.

I've have been sending some crash logs and know that they are working on narrowing down the issue and sure there will be a fix soon. I am sure they are working on a fix and not reading the forums at this point.

I hope they aren't reading the forums! I assume they would have somebody post something on the forum for them!

They do read the forums. Just because you don't get a response doesn't mean they don't see or are not working on it. No reason to try to solicit an answer.

You haven't heard from Dave, because right after submitting the app to the Apple store (last week, from his parents' couch, with all possessions other than his laptop on a truck) he hit the road to relocate to our new Phoenix office, driving his family on an (I imagine) very frustrating "adventure filled" (e.g. flat tire, etc.) journey to their new home. He's now settling into his house and setting up the Logos office to open on Monday, and I'm pretty sure he doesn't have Internet access except via his iPhone, and is getting online only when he takes a break from unpacking boxes and swings by a Starbucks.
You haven't heard from me, because I don't know the answer.
:-)
(Dave's not the only team member, and some of the others are looking into the problem, which appears to be related to very large note files syncing, but they aren't forum regulars. I'll poke them soon to get updated info online.)

Thanks for the brief update and the straight shooting. I will pray for Dave in his transition. I know those moves are always an adventure! I have experienced too many myself.
Logos (and yourself in particular) usually do an excellent job on communication. It struck me as odd when the forums were so silent on an issue which has crippled all my iOS Logos programs.
On a slightly different note, hope some of my experiences help.
After my app starts crashing, if I put the machine in airplane mode, I can start the app. With the app running, I can switch airplane mode off and it appears to operate for a while before it crashes. Switching apps will bring it down again.
I tried programs to force free RAM but they are not helping.
Praying for you guys... sorry for the tough Friday!

Bob,
Thanks for the update. Everyone has been anxiously waiting for this application for a long time. Now that its here, albeit with crashes, at least we have hope for the near future.

In hindsight, it might have been better to delay the iOS release until more customers had moved to desktop v4.5, and the sync had got up to date and become rather ilde. I have the same questions in my. mind about releasing the iOS v2 update on a weekend that did not have all hands on deck, rather than a weekend when some of the key staff were offline and moving cities.
Leaving that all aside, I look forward to a week or so from now, when this pain has settled and any urgent bugs have been nuked. I like the new changes from what first looks indicate.
Current events also seem to prove we urgently need to be able to export our Notes, even if supported only on desktop and not mobile clients. Please Bob, this seems important.

It is my understanding that Logos submits the app, but Apple releases it when it is approved.
From reading other iPhone app forums, once Apple approves the app, you can set a release date. For example, one developer just announced that Apple approved their 2.0 version, but they will not release until Sunday night because their key staff are all at MacWorld.
When it runs, I love the new iOS version. Perhaps delaying would have been wise... 20/20 hindsight...
