Notes and Highlights on ipod touch
Am I missing something? I downloaded the iphone 2.0 app for my ipod touch. I did notice the page-shifting issue already mentioned in the forums, correctable by turning off header and footer.
But on that same "View Settings" page, I don't have any option available for "Notes and Highlights." There's nothing to turn on or off. I can choose "Red Letter Text", then "Inline Footnotes" then "Columns," but contrary to the "Custom Settings" button on http://www.logos.com/mobile/iphone page, I don't even have the "Notes and Highlights" option.
Any suggestions? I've deleted the app and reinstalled it. No change. Thanks for any help.

You need to select the text, then you have the option to highlight and take notes.
Dear Tom,
I wonder which generation iPod touch you are working on? Developer, Kevin Byford, comments on another thread (here),
Notes and Highlighting, as far as I understand, are not currently supported on second generation iPod Touch devices.

Thanks Andy for pointing Tom to this thread... however, I am not a Developer - I am brand new to the Mobile QA team this week and am simply sharing knowledge "as far as I understand" about currently supported devices.
When you touch the screen and the word turns blue, using the darker blue dots, drag the highlighting to the words that you want to be included and it should give you copy, look up, search, highlight, and note... if it does not, I could only guess in saying that you are not using version 2 of the app.
Thanks, Pastor Kelly. As the others pointed out, it's because I have a 2nd generation ipod touch. So even with version 2 of the app (which I did verify), highlighting and notes doesn't work or even show up as possible. But I'm not ready to bite the bullet for a new ipod touch or ipad. [;)]
Tom, in the Alps
But I'm not ready to bite the bullet for a new ipod touch or ipad.
When you are, I would strongly recommend the iPad. I have the same iPod you do. I also have an original iPad & iPhone 4s. Each has its purpose. The iPhone is great for having your calendar / email / price checker / music etc. etc. etc. I LOVE IT. Of course you can also read on it, but there is nothing like an iPad for reading, taking notes, etc.
FYI - Rumors are pointing to Apple continuing to offer the iPad 2 once the iPad 3 comes out. If this is true, expect new price points for the older model. [:)]

I agree 100%.
I also have an iPhone 4 and, more recently, a MBA. I still depend on my iPad, however, as much as ever. I would say that I use the iPad three to four hours everyday for reading and study on the go. The iPhone is more than passable if I have nothing else to hand, but the experience offered by the iPad is vastly superior when using the Logos app.

Profuse apologies, Kevin, I should have read your original post more carefully.
Please Andy, no apology is needed! I am not a Developer but am very committed to both the quality of Logos software and to a quality customer experience when using Logos software. Thank you for bringing Tom's issue to my attention.
