Logos 4 Crash on Startup after last auto update

I am running XP and have Logo 4 setup to auto update, which has worked fine until the last update. After the update, I get an generic encounted a problem dialog. See the attached zip file. It has the log files and a snapshot png of the error dialog box.

The crash log show the following error

Error ID: 9696
Error detail: NullReferenceException: Object reference not set to an instance of an object.

I noticed several other post about the last update but not exactly like mine.

Any help is already appreciated.

It appears that your local preferences database can't be read correctly (and I'm not sure how this could have happened). Nevertheless, you should be able to get Logos 4 to start successfully if you delete this folder:

C:\Documents and Settings\WEmmons\Local Settings\Application Data\Logos4\Documents\ofycosub.it4\UserPreferences2

(This will wipe some settings you may have changed locally, but they should be automatically restored from the sync server.)

That was it. Thanks.

My laptop battery had died and I think that it may have abruptly shutdown. That might have been the cause, but none the less. I will have to remember this fix.
