Hi Bradleigh,
I have downloaded SR-5 & I have already downloaded over 6.0 gbs of updated resources, yet the indexer keeps crashing. What must I do for it to finish? My last successful index is dated the 9th Oct - a long time ago!. Since I had downloaded the huge updated resources, I have tried 4-5 times to get the program indexed. I finally decided to enable logging & the files are now attached. Thanks for all the work in trying to get these things sorted out.

What happened to the option to attach the files? I have never used the insert media button above before & not sure that I should here for text files. If there are still no files attached, I'd appreciate a lead on what to do.
Thanks, David

The media icon allows only a limited set of file types - you must zip the other files to get them to take.
Orthodox Bishop Alfeyev: "To be a theologian means to have experience of a personal encounter with God through prayer and worship."; Orthodox proverb: "We know where the Church is, we do not know where it is not."

I have zipped them. There is just no option to attach them.

If you click on the media icon (window or ladder shaped ) you should get a menu to browse to your file; then hit insert.

If you can't see this then you need to go into edit top screen near your name and change settings there. Find the file you want with the browse button and then click Insert

I am stuck at Build 4.0.3.2697. I can't get it to update. I followed the link posted on two other forums to download the current build. It still says .2697. Did someone say there is an auto update button? Where is it or did I misread something from a Logos 4 PC comment?

Type "Update Now" (without "")into the command window on the menu bar. Wait 30 minutes.

Seriously Chris? That rocks. I am not at my Mac right now, so I will assume the "wait 30 minutes" is a bit facetious. Thanks for the help.

Last week it wasn't facetious with all the upgrades, crossgrades and new installs - Logos servers were pretty maxed out - not sure how this week is, but don't want you to assume nothing is happening until you've waited that long. But there is no way to know how long it will take and there is no way to tell if it is working. The blue icon should show up in the task bar. (I assume your running a Windows VM on your Mac - the Mac Beta has all Mac people, and even if it isn't a Mac Beta issue, they may be able to answer your query.) In Windows you can check in Task Manager to see if LogosIndexer is running, but that might not happen while it checks the Logos servers to see what you "own" and compares that to what you have and begins the down load.

Chris,
I am running the Mac Beta (Alpha) on a Mac without VM Fusion or Parallels. I have the Logos 4 engine on my PC at home. I Beta tested the original Logos for Mac a little over a year ago.
Every time I type Update Now and hit enter in the command line it crashes. For that matter, every time I type anything in the command line it crashes. I will submit my logs here in a moment.

Every time I type "Update Now" in command line, it crashes. Actually, I type anything in the command line and press enter and it crashes. I cannot seem to get Alpha 4.0.3.2697 to update to .2700. Download a fresh version of Mac Beta and still nothing. Here are my logs. Hope this helps.

David,
I think you should take these issues to the Mac Alpha group. I'm fully in Windows and don't know what version of Mac Alpha is current or what the issues are. Mostly, that would be true of people here. I know there are Mac people who were part of the beta who left here to focus on that forum and asked us to direct people there.
I think the Mac developers at Logos are watching that forum and not this one.

BTW, I have some nice bubble wrap, a great extension cord and two coffe holders.

Go to the Logos 4 forum home page and scroll to the very bottom. There's a link to the Mac Beta there.

The Mac program is an Alpha test and does not have 2700 only 2697 - you're up to date, unless there is an update there - those who are using the Mac Alpha are in the Mac Beta forum - they can help you - check it out.
Update: They have removed the Mac Beta forum. There is now a Logos4 Mac forum accessible from the Home page of Forums.

Help !!! Every since the Logos 4 rollout and the download of the additional resources I received for being a beta testor, I continually get the icon in the taskbar which says "Resources are ready to be added to your library".
I click on the icon and Logos 4 restarts but I do not see any new resources. Is this normal? Am I missing something? Or do I have a problem?
0 -
Gary,
have you "right clicked" the icon and chose "restart"?
I had to do that...don't know why...

In most cases, these will be updates to resources you already have. It wouldn't be new resources unless you bought something new.

Is your avatar a picture of Thomas caught in the web of Logos fame and glory?

That's one interpretation. Unlike words, pictures lack a discernible intended meaning. I prefer to think of it as me exploring an uncharted bit of Logos 7.

Gary, that sounds like one of your databases is corrupt. I'm not sure which one though.
- Close L4
- Right click your taskbar and open taskmanager
- Click processes tab and look for anything else that says Logos 4 (like Logos 4 indexer) and right click those processes and kill them. (ignore the warnings)
- Enable logging (CTRL+click your icon to load logos) Give it time to load and maybe close the homepage or something.
- Click the icon in the tray to restart logos, or right click and tell it to execute or whatever it says.
- If it doesn't close automatically - close logos.
- Navigate to My DOcuments\Logos Log Files\ and look for your logs.
- Upload those logs here, all of them - but especially if you have an updater log.

I was hoping that was a dunce hat.
(Since I'm not sure how far south you live, that hat shape and color could represent something else.)

How far south do you have to go to make that something else? And how bad a something else would it be? (If we are whispering, it must be something!!!)

I think everyone knows it was a "dunce-hat," Thomas. And while I think it's inappropriate for any believer to shame himself/herself, since Jesus bore all our sin and shame, and since we are now his new creation, created in Christ Jesus for good works, and since He is not ashamed to call us brothers (add additional verses as necessary), I was just making an observation intended to raise a little uncomfortable humor.
Actually those pointy white hats in the south remind me of dunce hats, much more than the other way around.
But for someone from the south, where this is not merely an historical oddity, but a living memory, there could be some unintended suspicion (if not offense) generated. Thank-you for getting out of the corner, and back in front of the chalk-board

Richard,
Good points. As a Canadian my tho'ts don't go there right away. But having visited the South a couple of years ago, I am aware of the issue. Certainly don't want to do anything to hinder the good things Thomas is doing. Also, good theology - preach it.
