Strong's definitions in Scripture reference popups
Oh, I don't get out much, so I don't know when this was added, but having Strong's hyperlinked to the important words in the Scripture popups in commentaries and study Bibles is a nice perk. A nice addition to the iPad app. Us Bible geeks like things like that. (In version 2.0.2)

Jerry - Are you seeing it hyperlinked, or just listed?

The Scripture words in the Bible reference popups in study bibles and commentaries consists of words in black and blue. The blue words hyperlink to a Strong's definition when you tap on them. From there you could jump to the reference in Strong's if you wanted. Does this answer your question? I never noticed this before but didn't know if it was a new feature or not. This feature is not in Bibles.

I am not looking in a Bible. This is Bible dictionaries, commentaries and study Bibles. Perhaps it has been like that for a long time and I just never noticed it. Either way it is a nice feature. I know the Strong's number in the popups in Bibles doesn't link to anything.

I just looked in the ESV Study Bible and can't figure out exactly what you are saying is happening since it doesn't appear the way you have described it on my application.

Did you double check, or were you speaking from memory? I am not seeing this (I went to the same page as you). My guess is that your preferred bible is causing this, but I tried my version of the NASB, and it didn't work.

Yes I did. Nasb has been my preferred Bible for quite some time. I loaded version 2.0.2 on my iPad app this morning.

Last question: Can you "jump to reference" and see what the text looks like? Is it hyperlinked as well?

If I tap on a Bible reference lets say in the ESV study Bible, the popup shows the Scripture reference in black and blue. If I tap on jump to reference it takes me to that reference in my NASB. From there I cannot get to a Strong's definition. But if I tap on one of the blue words in the popup in the ESVSB I get another popup which contains a lexical definition of that word. If I tap on jump to reference from there it takes me to the Dictionary of Biblical Languages with Semantic Domains (Greek). The DBL Greek also shows up in a Bible Word Study in the NT. So my guess is that I am getting this because I have the DBL Greek prioritized. Does the DBL show up on your iPad Bible Word Study done on a NT word?alabama24 said:Last question: Can you "jump to reference" and see what the text looks like? Is it hyperlinked as well?

Yes, but it is the third in the list:
- BDAG
- Louw-NIda
- DBL Greek
I am VERY confused with these results. [:S]
