BUG: 4.5a Beta 2: PB compiler ignores character formatting on links

I have a book title in Italics, and created a link to the content of that book in Logos. Before I added the link, the italics formatting was preserved by the PB compiler, but now that it's a link, it comes out in non-italic text. Nothing I do (formatting the entire bracketed bit of text including the brackets, for example) can work around that. (see below)

Here's a small test document that exhibits this behavior:

EDIT: I get the same result if I format the opening and closing brackets and spaces and >> as italics too:

The only way I can get it to show up in italics (I've just discovered), is if I format the URL as italics too:

Then it finally showed up as Italics in Logos:

But Logos should be getting the formatting from the visible link text, not from the URL which isn't even visible in the final document. Cf. how Word does this with fields.

The only way I can get it to show up in italics (I've just discovered), is if I format the URL as italics too:

Out of curiosity I built your book in stable versions 4.5 SR2 and (after updating) SR3 and found that the stable version behaves just like the beta: the reference text is in italics when the whole section in square brackets is in italics - to me, that's fine.

First section: your original, second section your solution with full-italics reference (I edited the link to go to anfRC03 to check whether it's really working).

The reference shown at mouse over duplicates the content - is this the same with the beta? I seem to recall that other threads discussed this.

Yes, the duplication of content in the popup happens in 4.5a Beta 2 as well.

I'm glad to know that I've found a work-around for the italics issue, but I still consider it a bug.

Here's an example of why this needs to be fixed, why the workaround is not sufficient:

I have a reference to Athenagoras's Legatio Pro Christianis, XI in a document, and I want the title of the work to be in italics, but not the chapter number (as would be correct formatting). But I want the link to encompass that entire text. If I put it in as:

[[Legatio
Pro Christianis, XI >> logosres:anf02;ref=Athenagoras.Athengoras,_Legatio_sive_Supplicatio_pro_Christianis_11]]

...it will show up as a link but without any italics , but if I put it in as

[[Legatio Pro
Christianis, XI >> logosres:anf02;ref=Athenagoras.Athengoras,_Legatio_sive_Supplicatio_pro_Christianis_11]]

...then the entire link text will be italics, which I don't want. There is no way to have it partially italic. The PB compiler needs to preserve the formatting of the actual link text.

EDIT: Just out of curiosity, is there a reason you need to use the hyperlink syntax rather than the hyperlink function in Word? I tested that and it looks like the division of formatting is preserved that way.

This was before I knew you could do that.
