Do I need to unstall the Logos App before updating on the Kindle Fire?

Before updating to 9.4 I uninstalled the Logos app on my Kindle Fire and then downloaded the latest update.  After doing so, I lost all my downloaded resources.  I didn't have too many, so downloading them again isn't that much of a problem.

My question is:

Do I need to uninstall the Logos App before downloading future updates?  I thought I remember reading that this was needed for the Kindle Fire to work properly.  Is this still the case?

Thanks.

You do not If the Logos version presently on your Kindle Fire was downloaded from the Amazon App store.  If it was installed from some other place then you must uninstall it first.

I got a Kindle Fire about a week or two ago. I installed the Logos app from the Kindle store. Yesterday I had a notice on my Kindle (a number with a circle in it at the top - just after my name). I tapped it and saw there was an update for the Logos app. It asked if I wanted to update. I did.

    Wow. That was easy!

(I didn't check to see that everything I downloaded was still there -- but at least some of it was.)

[:'(] not so with mine...yet. Can you tell the difference? I wish they would work on the Android similar to the apple product.

    Waiting!

    Waiting!

Finally, even though it wasn't as easy as Richard's, I have the New Kindle App. Split Screen works, and I think it will be very usefull!
