I am reading A Marginal Jew, have you seen this before? What is it? A Start, Keep Reading, then another Start?
It also appears that your first Start Reading asks you to pick up in the middle of a sentence. The second is a rational start at the beginning of a paragraph. I suspect that your finishing midsentence is what created this anomaly.
I've seen this quite a bit--in this case, the resource may be formatted with a logical gap--Logos reacts to it by showing where the start re-starts. You will also see this if you have multiple reading plans viewable at once which access the same parts of the same resource. My chronological bible reading plan can get pretty hard to follow sometimes in Ki / Chron because of this. Hiding the "view" of the reading plans you don't currently wants to do helps.
If I understand what you are saying, I just have one reading plan within Logos. So it can't be multiple plans.
If you turn on 'Show page numbers' in the Visual Filter drop down, you will see that the markers are appearing in the correct places. Page 14 begins in the middle of a sentence and is directly followed by page 19. I'd be interested to know how your reading plan is set up to verify whether the 'Keep Reading' bar needs to be there, though.
