Sync function for Reading Plan Fixed???

Because I was aware of the upcoming fix for the sync function, I have been doing my reading on my iPhone only, not touching the reading record on the desktop, since I knew that if I did mark anything on the desktop, it would only create an additional reading plan.

As a result, the desktop record showed I was "Behind" Smile

Imagine my surprise yesterday when my desktop record revealed that I had "caught up".

Because I have seen this before, I assumed that it was a random moment of function, since I had understood that there would be updates released on both the desktop and the iOS at close to the same time.

But...the sync worked again today. Almost simultaneously.

And there hasn't been any updates released, to my knowledge.

Is it fixed?

The latest I heard is that 4.5a (which is required to fix syncing of reading plans) is at the Release Candidate stage? Have you installed this - or earlier beta versions of 4.5a? Without this, it won't be fixed.

As you say there is a need for an update to the iOS app as well. The last I saw on this - I think yesterday - was that this was at beta2 stage but with no clear indications as to when it would be released.

So unless you are running the beta of the iOS app I think what you are probably seeing is one of those random occasions when it does work for some people - this might not last!

Enjoy it while you can and until the updates are released

This is consistent with other users experiences over the past 6 months (i.e. random syncing). Sorry, it is not fixed (yet). I can confirm, however, that the mobile app is in beta 2 stage and sync is working well. I have no idea when this may be released to the public.

Thanks for the update.  I had heard that it was going to be sorted with version 2 of the mobile app (mine is 2.0.2.2368) and was excited when it recently synced up.  Its just restarted a new reading plan on my iPad however and I am well into a reading plan - which I can now only access on my desktop.  A real pain - and am hoping they get it sorted soon.  I love Logos - but this is driving me a little to distraction [:)]

Tim - the only thing that I know on a timeline is that Logos intended for a "short beta cycle" for the mobile app. Like I said in my previous post, syncing of reading plans is working really well. There are several other bugs, however, which may delay its release. For your sake, I hope its soon. [:)]

    alabama,

Is this update that's being testing going to correct the situation where I read on my Mac most of the time, but when I open the reading plan on my iPad it shows I'm way behind?

Yes. When you read on either your desktop or mobile device, it will sync your completed status. That part of the beta is working fine (at least for me).
