NETBOOK TRANSFER

I have this Netbook sitting here and was wondering what would be the easiest way to get my UI settings[layouts, favorites, etc., etc.] and Library moved to it with the minimal of problems?

I have the original cd’s but then that would mean a major update process as well. I’d rather do it simple-er.

EDIT: If you just install from the web all your documents will sync over. However, since netbooks tend to be low powered either running Libronix or using 1 or 2 to avoid indexing might be preferable.

The indexing is what I was hoping to avoid. Also, the carry-over notes from L3, since the NB is not associated with the laptop I was thinking of moving the Library to a external hdd with the notes and all and then upload to the NB hdd....

If I get the current UI from the l-top amd move it to the NB, this is where I was thinking that i might have an issue, Lic'ning and all....

I have used method 2 many times to update my netbook after a large purchase to avoid excessive indexing. It works great!

UPDATE:

Ok, I chose #2, but the downloaded installer needs to be adjusted so that it downloads the most current release.

This seemed to have created a slight issue after copying over the directed folders. It is in the process now of 'preparing the library', and I think that that is due to the outdated version from the installer.

So far it appears that everything went accordingly well, it was a bummer about the installer, I opened the program and the first thing it did was to do the update to the current release version. I had to re-re-re-read the prompts to make sure I was going the right way...I am wondering if the "Install" folder should be copied over as well/? Maybe this would remove having to prepare the library....

OUCH!! they just released an update, hahahah... i got caught in the middle.....ok I think everything will be fine. Thanks.
