Please Fix Fonts for similar contrast

Dear People at Logos,

Please make L4's text contrast work like it did in L3.

When using L4, it is not as easy to quickly glean info as it is in L3. I have set L4 to Arial as i had it in L3. Notice how the Bold text in L3 really pops out and how in L4 it almost blends in with non-bold text.

After some trial and error (hahaha), i found that i must have returned L4's font back to default.

When i changed L4's font back to Arial and enlarged the font it pretty much matched what i saw in L3.

You can change the font in L4 by using Tools->Program Settings.

You just need to change the font. The font you're using is in Logos4 is not Arial. If you change it to Times New Roman (as it is in your Logos 3 format), you'll get better contrast, Arial is better still.

Click Tools / Program Settings to change the font. Open your resource first, and you'll see the changes instantly.

I've also noticed the font difference. In L3 the fonts are much 'blacker' in general, and for me much easier on the eyes. I've played with my monitor settings a bit which helped some, but I still wish the fonts in L4 were as black as in L3.

We use WPF for display, for various reasons. WPF went and "did things correctly", but for a definition of "correct" that doesn't accommodate the practical realities of 96 dpi screens. (It's ready for real high res, though, and if you have a high-density laptop screen and set program scaling to 140%, you'll get some gorgeous text....)

Thanks, Bob, for the explanation. I like the irony of "not perfect, but looks darker/sharper" [:D]

It reminds me of a quote from an AA resource I have: "We aim for progress, not perfection."

I need better clarity with my particular eyesight, and don't want to have to scale too much, because of the reduction in the amount of visible content. I just need it as sharp as the rest of my programs / operating system.

I know for the visually impaired such changes would be absolutely critical.

It's an important accessibility issue. I'm glad improvements are coming.
