Is the current layout syncing?

Am I getting myself confused ? ... again ... Sad

I just turned on my iMac and it seemed to have the same workspace that I have been using on my MBP all morning (complete with a problem search ... a different issue).

I cannot remember using the iMac for this type of work (testing a search) ... I seem to remember that it was using a completely different layout.

I understand (and desire) that saved layouts are synced ... but this seems to be the syncing of my current layout across my machines ... am I imagining this? Tongue Tied

I use different machines in different locations for different purposes, and my family use it on their machines at home, again for different purposes ... I am pretty sure that they do not want their layouts trashed by my temporary layout etc.

I use windows, but have also noticed what I last used on one machine seems to appear on the others when I open Logos on them

Now I'm confused. Isn't that the purpose of Logos4? To be able to work on several machines and have everything where you last left it. The license is to one user only so doing this should not be a problem, but an advantage.

Layouts do not sync. [EDIT: I meant to say that the "last used layout" does not sync between computers] Resources, including position, do. If you have the Bible opened to John on computer "a", it will open to John on computer "b" unless the layout dictates otherwise

For example, if your computer "b" had your bible open to Genesis in a layout, you would expect it to open there and not John. If the layout on "b" did not have your bible open, you would expect it to open to John.

EDIT: I forgot to add that I would LIKE the last used layout to sync (as an option). Named layouts, of course, do sync. [:)]

I agree with that. I have 3 installations with very similar layouts. Two on Desktop are based on the same Layout because of screen size + one on laptop with another Layout because of its screen size. However I was pleased to observe that none of the (same) resource positions 'leaked" across. When I restarted L4 or switched between L4's I got the same layout/positions as before.

I would expect it to open to the "active reference" from the last resource used, and it does. I would be perplexed if it adopted a position from another installation, even if there was no visible "active reference" in the current installation.
