Hello! I recently purchased some books for Logos; and when Logos began downloading them to my library and index, Logos crashed; now it will not open. I would appreciate any help that could be provided. 1803.Logos4.log6661.Logos4Crash.txt6012.Logos4Error.log3750.Logos4IndexerCrash.txt7587.Logos4IndexerError.log4035.logos4setup (2).log
Welcome to the forums Philip!
There seem to be different errors in these logs. I'm not quite sure what to make of them, since the primary cause seems to be the CopyBibleVerse styles, and the problem occurs in syncing them. But keep in mind that I'm no expert in reading these logs, and I'm not a Logos employee. If Dave Hooton finds this thread and has better advice, follow what he says.
You may be able to get Logos to run if you hold the CTRL key as Logos starts up and when the dialog appears choose to run in offline mode. This should work, if the problem is only with the data sync (there seems to be a mismatch in data sync types - if I read the logs right.) If it doesn't post back. We could try a reinstall using one of the multiple install methods in the wiki.
As for a fix, this may be beyond the expertise of fellow users, you may need to get a hold of tech support at the 800 phone number at the top right of the Logos main web page (from North America), or by emailing tech@logos.com and pointing them to this thread.
Wish I had more to offer. I hope you can get Logos to run in offline mode.

Welcome [:)]
As a another user looking at logos4setup.log file noticed Logos 4.5a setup has been rerun since previous version = current version.
Noticed Logos4 and Indexer are having problems loading an assembly (from Logos4IndexerCrash.txt file):
Unable to load an assembly can be caused by not having permission to read file(s) OR file does not exist.
Wondering if Logos 4 was installed and/or run as administrator ? Wiki has => Fixing Logos 4 folder Ownership
If assembly does not exist, wonder about repair ? Program and Features control panel to repair "Logos Bible Software 4" (version 4.51.0.2048) ?

I hope you can get Logos to run in offline mode.
Curious if can launch Logos 4 in offline mode. Caveat: suspect crash will repeat.
Keep Smiling [:)]

Thank you for the help Richard! I am unable to open L4 with the Control button; it too immediately produces the same message: "Logos Bible Software has stopped working."

Thank you for the help Keep Smiling! I did install Logos as an administrator; however, it does not display the owner as my administrator account. I have taken screen shots so that you can verify this.
When I attempted to repair Logos I got this message:
, and after I hit cancel for retry did nothing but bring up this message again, I was given this message:
Once again thank you for the help! The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with both Richard and you.
Thank you for the help Keep Smiling! I did install Logos as an administrator; however, it does not display the owner as my administrator account.
The owner should be the Windows user in whose account L4 was installed (not another user). It appears that Philip Schaffer is the account name associated with C:\Users\User05 and that you are the owner of that file. If that is an Administrator account you actually don't install with that privilege unless you right click the Setup file and click "Run as administrator" - this is what KS4J meant.
However the problem file is not the one you show - it is Logos.documents.contracts.dll that you should own. Repeat the process for that file and also make sure you own the \System folder.
Thanks for the help Dave! Where should these files be located?
The second screen shot in your previous post has the path (make sure you can view Hidden files and folders from Control Panel >> Folder Options)
With the help of the logos support folks, I was able to fix my problem. It turns out one of my antivirus software (Webroot) was the source of the problem. If you are curious, here is the link I was sent to: http://www.logos.com/support/article/webroot. Thanks for your help everyone.
It turns out one of my antivirus software (Webroot) was the source of the problem.
We thought that Webroot was rectified earlier. Thanks for the feedback.
Doesn't matter what I do - I've restored the so-called "malware" file from quarantine in Webroot; I've tried running Logos as administrator ... the program just won't start up. Need a fix for this chronic instability!
The logos4.msi file crashes when I try to repair my installation. Right-clicking on the file doesn't give me the option of "run as administrator."
Rob, if that's the case the easiest solution might be to uninstall, delete the L4 folder and reinstall. I know that's a painful step but sometimes it's the best one.
Alternatively you could give Logos' tech support line a call and see if they have any other suggestions.
